The course at Copper Canyon Golf Club is deceptively exclusive in that although the club has prestige and a luxurious atmosphere, there are some reasonably priced tee times. The layout features an interesting mix of holes that offer panoramic views of the White Tank Mountains to the south. The large, undulating greens that are framed by generous fairways are the trademark of the course. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and there are also sand bunkers situated throughout. This golf course offers four sets of teeboxes. Copper Canyon Golf Club has extensive practice facilities for golfers to use as well, including a full length driving range with several target greens, a large practice putting green, and a short game area with a bunker.

Love this course

Fun course, good variety of holes, appropriate for all skill levels. Water in play on 4-5 holes, bunkers in play on virtually every hole, but fairways are wide enough to keep the course from beating you down. One of my favorite courses in Phx. I'd play this course more often if it wasn't in the middle of nowhere...

Hot Summer Day - Great Course

I golfed at 1:33pm on a 116 degree day. First of all .... staff is amazing. During the blistering heat they were all super helpful and friendly. Starters are super nice. Proshop super friendly... food shack super nice...Second of all the course is in great shape. It’s 116... been 110 for the past 5 days.. there are going to be brown spots but at this course it doesn’t effect play. Greens are true to lines and the sand traps.. which there are tons are in super shape. Figuring with the heat and wind.. the traps should be rock hard, however I found myself in 5 of them and they played true and fair. Great course.

3-some killed pace. Need ranger.

We got stuck behind a 3-some that did not know how to play golf and had no golf etiquette. Killed the pace for everybody behind them as we started stacking up. One of our guys quit after a few holes because he could not stand waiting and waiting. We caught them at the teebox and asked them to let us through since they were taking so long. They stared at us like they could not understand why we were asking. They did let us through.

We played the Vista and Lakes courses. They were in great shape. A little thin in a few places, but for summer that is normal. Greens were nice. A little slow, but very good shape. This is a fun course. They just need a ranger to help keep the pace.

Cons: Greens and Bunkers

Today played the Mountain 9 and greens were horrible. Not true to the roll at all, approach shot hit the green and the ball goes and extra 10-20 ft long. The sand/bunker on the throughout the course was hard as a rock.

Vista was in great shape, the greens was very true to the roll. Fairway and tee box was phenomenal for summer golf.

Will come back in 3 weeks to play Vista and Lakes

Fast Greens and narrow fairways

Really great course. Big Greens can be hit in regulation if you can land the tee shot in the narrow fairways.

Worth the Drive

This was the second time out to Copper Canyon. Having played other courses in Surprise at Sun City Grand, I was worried I would get the same attitude from the staff and pro shop I received at those courses. I was pleasantly surprised how nice and welcoming the pro shop was when I arrived, not put out I was playing golf at their facility. The range was crowded, however nice and in nice condition. The starter was very helpful and seemed to actually enjoy his job. Pace was great and the course is well manicured for all the play it gets. I will make the drive again.

Poor traps

Great course. Nice layout. Friendly fairways. Full course with no ranger or cart person. Most traps need something added to them to be called sand traps which is surprising for a course this good.

Beautiful course with a fatal flaw

I love Copper Canyon. The layout, the overall condition, especially the greens. Ths staff is friendly and courteous. But I doubt I'll go back there because the bunkers are garbage. 1/2 inch of gravel stop a clay base as hard as concrete. There are just too many great courses in the area to waste my money being frustrated by one aspect of this fun layout.
