About
Since 2001 Wolf Creek has earned a reputation as one of the toughest golf tracks in the Atlanta Metro area. Wolf Creek boasts a 7028 yard par 72 championship layout with bent grass greens which is just one of the reasons Golf Digest selected Wolf Creek as the best course near Hartsfield Jackson Airport. The Mike Young Designs course incorporates both low flatlands holes, bordering many wetland areas, and holes with dramatic elevation changes. Wolf Creek has four sets of tees to accommodate players of all skill levels. A practice range and practice green allow for serious work on your golf game or just a warm-up before your round.

Golfer Reviews
Beautiful course w/ issues that need attention
This could be one of the top public courses in the Atlanta area. Beautiful land, great layout, generally very well maintained. The greens are really suffering from players not repairing ballmarks, and pace of play issues make it hard to justify the rates. Two groups of six allowed to play back-to-back jammed up the back nine. Every shot became a wait, three groups waiting at tee boxes at times. Rate should be lower or that shouldn't happen.
Challenging and fun course
Friendly and helpful staff.
Played the course as a single and really impressed with the layout.
Starter was helpful and placed me in front of a couple of groups at the first tee. Thank you!
Had a great day until hole 17 when the stormy weather chased me.
I will be back again.
Great Track
Greens were in great shape, quick...I like them that way, played soft so you could attack the pin and play extra spin. Some of the views were spectacular! If this is a close drive for you it is a must play. I love opening up Pat 5, 3, 5, 3...then closing with two Par 5s. Really loved the design and for as much play as the course gets...great shape!
Reluctant review
I am reluctant to write this review because this appears to be a rare hidden gem in metro Atlanta. Played a 3:15 round on a Friday , on a course in great shape with soft, fast and fun greens.
Staff was awesome, even the mowers knew when to start and stop to keep the game moving and undistracted.
I could go on, but I wont in hopes that I can keep this place somewhat a secret.
Over a hour wasted
4:50 tee time, and no carts. 5:53 watching carts just go back to the first tee. They don’t have a starter, and no control. Complete anarchy Don’t waste your time
Fun course!
Generous fairways and quick greens, not to fast that it slows the pace of play. Imperative that you choose the correct tees. Landing areas pinch in if you play forward tees, and forced carries might be to far if you bite off more than you can chew! Rough is not so bad that you can only advance the ball to the fairway, but you can catch a flier lie! Good test for any level!
Regret Posting This Review
This course is in amazing condition and with me running the gamut as a “GolfNow Regular” this is in my top 5 within the 1 hour drive radius around Atlanta. The greens are probably rolling 10.5+ right now which is impressive since they are bentgrass. They don’t plan on punching them until October either. Tee boxes and Fairways are phenomenal, as well. It’s the type of course that allows you to air it out off the tee but will penalize you if you miss. The course layout is solid but it has difficult green-structures that make it tough to get up and down.
Regret posting this because it’s a hidden gem and I can almost always count on booking last minute if an afternoon frees up. But gotta give credit where it’s due!
Tops In Public Courses
Wolf Creek may be the best public course in the Atlanta area. The fairways are as plush as I've ever seen! This course is long and challenging, but doesn't deny you of the fun. Truly a pleasure to play. Worth every effort to get to this course.
Good Course - Marginal Play Management
Wolf Creek is in good condition with clean fairways, well maintained turf, properly groomed bunkers. The greens were a bit slow for my taste. Overall, this is one of the better public courses in Metro Atlanta. I would have rated Wolf Creek four stars if the pace of play was managed.
Good public course
Good public golf course. Greens were in awesome shape.
All about the tees
Wolf Creek is a tough golf course and to enjoy it, you have to play from the correct tees. I played blue and should have played White it some combination thereof. Toughest holes are #8 and #17, though plenty of others present a challenge. Greens are some of the best in Atlanta. Word to the wise: don’t get above the hole.
Fantastic course for the value!
Was in the Atlanta area for work and had today off, figured I’d golf and saw this place was close. Very happy I went. Other than a lot of the bunkers being in rough shape, this course is great! The layout is very cool, each hole seems to be on its own, the view / scenery is great on each hole, fairways and greens are in above average (at worst) shape. Really enjoyed my time, and for 35 bucks or whatever the 4 pm tee time was, I can’t recommend it enough. Some funky holes, tricky greens (very small and undulated), and stuff to avoid keep it interesting the whole round. Definitely check it out. My only complaint (and its minor) is the lefty club rental set was a little dated. That probably won’t affect 99.9% of people reading this, and still didn’t diminish my enjoyment out there, so get your butt on down and play this course!
Great course, great deal
Wolf Creek is awesome. Currently in great shape, from tee to green. Bentgrass greens are rolling smooth here and are probably 11-13 on stimpmeter. The slopes on greens are the most differentiating aspect of them. The course layout is interesting on a few holes with blind tee shots, but overall pretty fun. My only complaint is pace of play. I’ve gone during the afternoon on a week night and there are a bunch of people hopping from hole to hole, so it can be slower. Can’t beat the deal during the week for $35 though, so pretty good spot to get 18 in for a good price during the week.
