Victoria Hills Golf Club
About
Victoria Hills Golf Club located in Deland has jaw-dropping beauty. Golfers will appreciate Roland Garl's vigorous bunkering, which oscillates between the expansive and the intricate, depending on the hole. An array of pot bunkers, waste bunkers, native wetlands, water sprays, bunkers integrated within a natural setting, and elevation changes rarely seen on a Florida golf course await you. Garl's course is graceful and feminine
Victoria Hills could easily be called "The State of Florida's Garden of Golf,"- inland settings such as this are virtually unprecedented in this state. Yet while the splendor and natural beauty of the property are notable, this is not simply eye candy and lazy golf. Victoria Hills, as one player put it, "is a blast to play". In any evaluation, it's difficult to imagine how a golfer would not rate a round here as one of their most enjoyable in Florida.

Enjoyable round of golf
Nice staff, great course layout and amenities, very friendly members. Locates about 30 minutes from Orlando, but worth the drive.
Coming back
Played this two days in a row as I had heard they had made improvements and they had. They’ve trimmed up around sand traps , fairways had some patches but given the layout still fun. Greens were running abit slow but true. Really impressed with what they’ve done and $25 hot deals is a steal. One of thr most interesting designs for a florids course
Needs some work... again
We played here a month ago and the greens were a lot better than they were today (Nov. 1, 2024).
It looked like the course suffered in the hurricane (22 days ago). Personally I was ok with the greens for the most part but the guys in my group grumbled.
The fairways were just ok - better than some times in the past. A few areas were extremely wet and I definitely lost a couple of strokes (and balls) trying to find a dry place to drop.
Phenomenal course
Everything from the Pro shop to the starter. The entire staff is top notch. Drove an hour to play. Definitely not disappointed. Can’t wait to return. A must add to your courses to play. 5 stars
Victoria Hills Golf Deland FL
I went on Sunday 10/27 with a 12:40pm. I have never played before and had a concern about the course conditions. There was a hurricane (Milton) had hit about 8-9 days before. To my surprise, they had all 18 holes open 😊. Thanks to the groundskeepers 👍
We dropped off our bags and pleasantly greeted us. I went to the Pro-shop to pay and the Pro-shop cashier was very polite and showed me where the dining room & bar if we were interested. I have eaten there before (I had a great experience and a great burger)! By the time we parked and got back to the carts (very clean carts!) and our bags in, a fresh card & pencil (with a point)
The course provides an opportunity for the level of difficulty (we were playing gold and blue tees based off our level of play)
In conclusion, I will be going to come back and play again!
Wet Conditions Didn't Dampen Our Enjoyment
Although we enjoyed our round we hope to play this course again under better circumstances than the remainder of hurricanes Helene & Milton.
The friendly staff has done a wonderful job on the fairways and greens, and most of the cart paths. But mother nature laid enough rain on the course that a couple of the paths were literally still under water and impassable.
The course layout is an enjoyable mixture of slight doglegs, straight shots and a few hilly fairways.
We will be back whenever we are in the area.
Back to being in good condition
Very pleased to how well the course is after the hurricane and years of being under restoration. Kudos to the owner and his course staff.
Still needs intense work
Greens need lots of work. Fairways improving. Rough is years from being acceptable Greenside bunkers improving but fairway bunkers are in poor shape. Tee boxes are poor. I increased my rating from one star to two which took 4 years. So, at the current pace, 4 more years will get to an average public course rating. Another 8-10 years and it could reach the level of the two LPGA courses. It certainly has the bones to become a great course! To get there in a couple of years would require a major investment and ownership willing to make it. I’m sure you could get a significant increase in membership given the growing golf population in the vicinity. As of now, LPGA is the much preferred alternative even though a 25 min drive.
Shows lots of improvement
The course has improved dramatically since we last played in the spring of 2024
Looks like the greens had been sanded but at least good grasscoverage with a few weeds
Nice course
Friendly staff , nice course in good shape considering we just had a hurricane.
I will definitely come back
Victoria Hills GC
I was told that Victoria Hills used to have outstanding turf conditions, but that it had gone down significantly and now recovering. First, the layout is simply fantastic. The condition of the course is indeed in recovery mode, but all the greens are covered in grass with a few sports they are working on. The greens were slow and a bit furry, but considering the recent passage of hurricane Milton, the course was in excellent shape. The staff was very friendly and the amenities very good. I will go back!
Coming back
They are doing a great job bringing the course back from the dead. Still have a ways to go, but very playable.
