Victoria Hills Golf Club

It looked to be a nice layout. Plenty of decisions and specific landing zones to hit. Elevation changes are a plus in Florida. But couldn't enjoy myself due to the constant tight lies I found myself in. Thin or non existent grass on many fairways and around greens, and bare spots on some greens. My 14° bounce on my 56° sand wedge was the wrong club for this! Thin shots causing unpredictable distances. Would love this course if it had grass.

The landscaping and sand traps need attention. The traps are very hard with packed sand almost need to be tilled or agitated in some way to loosen the sand up. You have to play sand shots like hard pan can’t just blast the ball out with a splash shot. Greens and fairways are great.

Fun to play a hilly course in Florida. The layout takes full advantage of the hills. Each hole is unique and challenging.. I'll be back to play again.

Was a great course, but now, overgrown rough, poor bunkers, and needs some TLC and Leadership.

The golf course has one of the finest layouts in central Fl. Unfortunately the new ownership of the course will not put the money into upkeep and course condition improvements. Right now sheep would starve if they were set out to graze in the fairways, they are losing them rapidly. If they grazed in the rough on #’s 12&13, they could survive for many years. It’s a shame because this could be one of the finest golf attractions around.

This course is a great layout, unfortunately management has neglected the upkeep and the fairways, greens, bunkers and just the total ambience is gone. The ladies at the 19th that have been there for many years are the only reason I will go back. Such a shame to let a great course go down and then try to charge the same money that other quality tracks are getting.

A terrific track that is so poorly maintained in all areas that it is unplayable. Poor practice areas, tees almost unrecognizable, below average greens and very little grass in fairways, rough. Steady decline over last 3 years. Owner s fighting a losing battle.

Needs to be a serious infusion of money and could be returned to a top course in northern Florida.

I’ve always liked this track. Beautiful and a lot of variety. It was in good-not-great shape. They had a club drop off cart guy which is a nice touch so checking in was seamless. Once on the course however they allowed lots of singles and twosomes so the pace was horrendous. There were a bunch of newcomers which isn’t normal here so that may have been the reason.

First time playing this course. I was fortunate that my time was early and I started well behind the prior group…even as a single I never caught them. The course was in decent shape. A couple tee boxes were ondee construction and the greens were a little weedy but playable. I did enjoy the layout and willl likely add this to my rotation in the area.

Bring your bug spray because mosquito’s were out of control!! No cart girl, restaurant closes @ 3pm on Sundays. Some trees down but didn’t interrupt play. Greens were rolling quick and no standing water. Overall course is in good condition but lack of drinks/food was a bummer.

Surprising a course like this does not or cannot take care of the ongoing crabgrass on the greens issues. Do they not want to hire a competent greenskeeper? Putts are impossible due to bumping into clumps of crabgrass all over all 18 greens. Been like that as long as I can recall.

Last out here about 6 months ago and it has improved quite a bit, specifically the greens. Fairways and tee boxes still a bit rough in spots but also appears to have handled the hurricane well; remarkably dry and firm. Greens rolling pretty quick and mostly true aside from the invasive grass.

Layout is one of the best in central Florida and hopefully the conditions keep going in the right direction to match the great bones!

I’ve been playing this course since it opened and when it was an exceptional course. Sadly, time has not been kind. The fairways are in terrible shape, with uneven terrain making it a challenge to get to your ball with all your teeth still intact. Most of the greens are in decent shape and the layout is great. Before all the houses came in on the back nine, you couldn’t find a more scenic course. I had a 5 some playing in front of me and finally just passed them after a few holes. Obviously, members or residents of the area. It’s been going on a steady downhill fall but after a hurricane last week, it was at least open. It drains well but needs some TLC.

Compared to a year ago this course is improving a lot, only course in the area with some elevation changes so nice break from the usual Florida course
