The Eagles Golf Club - Forest
About
Designed by Ron Garl and Gary Koch, the Forest Course at The Eagles Golf Club features the signature island-green sixth hole which rivals the famous 17th hole at the TPC at Sawgrass. The two outstanding championship courses at The Eagles Golf Club are kept in "tournament condition" year-round. As its name implies, much of Forest course winds through an impressive pine forest.

Great Shape - Good club house.
We played the Lakes: Once we figured out what the 1st tee box was, it was a great track. The greens were in stellar condition. Three putts waiting to happen if you’re not concentrating! ;)
Club shop is and restaurant is in good, food was good and well priced, decent food, definitely felt like a country club.
Would definitely play again.
Great course
Great layout and play never stoped! That amazing!
Play somewhere else
For the price you would expect a better manicured course. Tee boxes were overgrown and no sand in bunkers. It's too bad because I love the layout. Better options in Tampa for the price.
Wildlife Galore
The Eagles- Forest is an absolute gem. You truly feel part of nature and the course is laid out beautifully to ensure you feel like you're away from the big city. Expect to see lots of wildlife. Deer, turkeys, gators, and other wild animals can almost be guaranteed.
The course is in fine condition. The fairways are average, and the greens roll on the slow side. There are several challenging holes with forced water carry and are a true test for your average golfer. The course just flows so naturally, almost as if that course was meant to exist in that exact location!
I highly recommend The Eagles- Forest if you ever want to venture out to Odessa, FL!
Overpriced Wet Grassland
Course was in poor shape. I've seen many muni courses in ten times better shape. Greens had tracks in them assumingly from mowers going over wet ground. Green 11 had half the grounds under repair, and of course they cut the hole around that location. Fairways were soggy and people had been taking their carts through which created dirt tracks throughout the course. Also beware as they charge a $20 riders fee in case you wanted to take your boy, significant other or anyone else out there to ride along and not play. They didnt tell us until we were about to tee off.
I emailed the course GM about the experience and I still havent heard back from him... Goes to show you how much they care about their course and customers!
Slow Greens, some soggy fairways
When dry, this course is fun to play. Not quite there yet. Also some tee boxes still need TLC before the big Winter crowds hit. The greens accepted the ball well but the trueness of the putting was suspect with various speed changes on different greens. The current heat wave requires more water but numerous greens were soggy wet in early afternoon. Never sure whether putt would take the break or stop two feet short on a downhill putt.
Forest Course
Course does not handle water well, so grass cuttings clumped up throughout course, some holes worse than others.
Beverage cart driver not a clue. Drives right at you when hitting with a loud cart.
Good for the price
For 35 at noon, it’s probably the best deal you can get around here. Course layout was fun and challenging. Tee boxes and fairways were nothing special, and the greens were frustratingly slow, but they rolled straight. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Overall good experience.
Excellent
This course is one of my favorites in the area. Absolutely enjoy playing here.
review
The Forest course at the Eagles is always in good condition and quite challenging for a high handicapper like myself..very enjoyable and worth the trip from Hudson....
Great Day At The Course
Had a great time golfing today! Staff is top notch. Restaurant food excellent, staff great [thanks Ann]! Found area's still damp from the rain, but most of the course great! My only problem was the fairly high grass in the fairways. Since I hit a low ball that runs, could I ask the ground crew to "PLEASE SHORTEN THE FAIRWAYS A LITTLE"? Thanks so much!
Much better
Played this course last week and it was in awful condition. Played it yesterday and it was a solid 7/10. Very playable.
Sloppy
Was way too wet to play cart path only which was ok but so wet all balls plugged in to a point where they were lost . This is a great course when dry but no fun when under water
Poor Drainage, cannot handle any heavy rain
In the drier conditions of late Fall, Winter, and early Spring, this is a fun course to play. Rains makes it almost impossible to get a decent lie. Mud shot after mud shot is very taxing and tiresome. They should have had the close closed. "Cart Path Only" should not apply to the only dry area to hit from.
