Wasps
OK, so there are wasps on some courses nowadays however, there should not be wasps coming out in the middle of the greens not for the price that you guys are asking. One hole was impossible to play because it looked like the surface of the moon with Wasp holes all over.
Great course!
I was told by a friend to try Stonewall.
This course was scenic, in great condition, very friendly staff.
A couple suggestions: a snack shop for early morning golfers to get a coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Also a couple greens had major sand fly mounds.
If you want a nice golf experience book your tee times here.
My group agree this will be a repeat course for us

Service better but won’t return because of ground wasps
I play here about twice a month. I consider it one of the best public courses in northern Virginia. This time they’ve increased their bag person services, coming to the parking lot to grab your golf bags and putting range balls on your cart. However, I don’t plan to return soon because on at least 5 holes the greens and bunkers are infested with ground wasps. I’m told they don’t bite but it is hard to concentrate when wasps are swarming around your legs and the buzzing loudly.

Great course
This is one of the most challenging courses I’ve played. The layouts of the hazard and the rolling fairways made it lots of frustrating fun. And kudos to the woman on the beverage cart. She knew exactly when to pop up!

Waited on every shot from the 1st to the 18th green. No marshal.

Tee time was 4:50p and didn’t tee off till 5p. Every hole we waited. Huge pile up. Weekend pace of play sucks

Great Course
The Club house is well organized. Having the starter right where the carts are for pickup is an excellent idea. The carts were labeled with the start time with practice balls on the cart seats and ice in a cooler ready to go. The starter new his job. The greens were in very good condition as well as the fairways. I will be going back.

Too many houses so close to the holes
It's a short course and has many houses so close to the holes. Some holes you have a chance to hit the houses if you drive your ball one end of the fairway. The problem is so many golfers hitting the houses. Home owners are ready to jump on you. If you hit the ball near the house, you can be blame for the damage done by the other golfer.

best NoVa public course with gorgeous views
To me it's a toss up between Laurel Hills and Stonewall as to best public golf course in DC area. Stonewall has amazing view of Lake Manassas...so serene with no boat traffic as it's water supply. 15 and 4,5 are stunning. I wish there was more use of the water although 18 is along side a small lake..Otherwise it's usually in great condition..today the greens were pretty pocked marked and we spent a lot of time fixing them..some bunkers are crusty with no sand..but otherwise fairways with this hot spell in good shape. Great post round bar and outdoor deck with view of 18. Pricey place but worth it..newer ownership are doing a good job here
