Great course bunkers need sand
The course is amazing. The bunkers need lots of work. New sand ASAP! Greens are spectacular. I can’t wait to play Stonewall again!

Stonewall in the winter
The course is in excellent condition. The fairways are in terrific condition. The course drains well and there were very few wet areas. The greens were smooth and rolled well. The traps are all under repair, ,but they are working on them. The winter rate for seniors at $40 is a great value. There was a cart girl working, and no other course we have been on in December or January has had a cart girl working. All in all a great day of golf.

Slow Play
Course is good but pace of play is very slow due to early groups not taking pace of play seriously

Covid relief
A resident of DC, when my private course in Maryland shut down for covid, I sampled all the nearby public Virginia courses. Without exception, stonewall became my “home course” compared to ALL the others. After one or two times, I was always welcomed by all the staff, ball hikes and, Kyle, the pro making me feel like I was a regular. I joined a plan which reduced my costs and was pleased to bring friends to the course. I loved the course layout, practice facilities. Maintenance was remarkable given how often the course is played. Despite the Route 66 drive out, I return to play there for all these reasons after my private club has opened. And it’s a good course to walk so I do not get involved in the cart/ social distancing issues.
