Great Course and perfect weather
Great Course and perfect weather.
However, green was a little slow
Wonderful round
The weather finally broke to offer one of the best golf days this summer. Course wasn’t overly crowded which provides a good leisurely pace. Tee boxes through to the green are in great shape. Love the views lake at bunch of greens throughout the course and can’t wait to get back out here after the fall aeration period. Keep up the great work!

Great conditions
Couldn’t have asked for a better day! Everything was is in great shape and greens were rolling fast. Only ask is for other golfers to do their part and repair divots and ball marks.

Fun course to play
Course was in good conditions. The greens were a little bumpy. Folks need to do a better job fixing ball marks.

Excellent conditions, excellent staff!
Course is in great shape, with excellent amenities. It was very hot and humid, and beverage cart stayed out all day, and plenty of staff around the clubhouse and range to assist with any needs. The food in the restaurant is also wonderful. Everything we ate was great, and they had some really good happy hour deals.

What happened to the Bunkers
Love the course. Stonewall has lots and lots of bunkers. They were excellent a few years ago, Now they are more dirt like with loth of pebbles in the bunkers.
Fix the bunkers. To cut costs get rid of a bunch that are unnecessary and add no value to the course.

Golf among the lakes
This is a beautiful course with holes woven into a landscape of hills and lakes. Well organized and friendly place. Check in, pick up a bucket of balls for the driving range, hop on carts and go. Good food and drinks afterwards. Hot day but some relief from the breezes over the water. Challenging course but very pleasant to play.

Poor bunkers, otherwise good course.
Positives: The fairways and greens themselves (apart from the holes with the hornets, and bunkers) are in great condition. The practice areas are good too.
Negatives: Unfortunately Stonewall’s bunkers are filled with large rocks and barely any sand. I hit a rock that was just out of sight under the ground which could’ve destroyed the face of my club. Additionally a few of the holes have swarms of large hornet-like bees on and around the greens.
Overall: Stonewall used to be my favorite course a few years ago. Unfortunately it’s not worth the money for me anymore. If they fixed the bunkers I would rate this course 5 stars.

Hornets Abound
Several holes had swarms of hornets in the green side bunkers. Between that and a lack of replacement of shade trees at the tee boxes (some stumps were present) it was extraordinarily hot.

Excellent layout and conditions as well as pace of play.
Course was in great shape, especially given the recent drought and heat we've experienced for a June. Greens rolled true. Hope to be back again soon.

Best course in VA
This course was the nicest course I’ve played in VA! I would have given a 5/5 but when I played it was in the 90’s and not a single water jug on the course had water in it… so bring your own water!
