I'll be back
Course an overall good shape people playing need to repair their divots
I would definitely like to see more yardage markers on sprinkler heads it would have been very helpful for those of us who don't carry around lasers or GPS Devices
Potential for great, but course was not in great condition
Layout is great. Everything about the course has the potential to be outstanding, but fairways and greens were not in top notch shape. May just be a little early in season, but otherwise everything is excellent. Greens were very difficult to read, especially on front 9.
nice course bad starter and marshal staff
The course itself is great. The older marshal staff had a snobby elitest attitude towards us younger guys (30). Sorry old fellows us young guys have money too. Probably won't return or consider my membership there.
Love it
Fantastic golf course. Very challenging, course was in great condition for the time of year. Can't wait to play again
Sunday April12th
$68 round, more than I would like to play considering the tee boxes and fairways were in fair condition with some brown bare spots. Probably more because of early season. The pin placements were very tough, maybe because it was Masters Sunday??? Only real complaint is $68 for fair conditions, otherwise great course, will play there again just only for $50-$55
good value.
Just like everywhere else, course is brown and cut down . tight lies and wet when I played, but layout and amenities make it good to play.
Wet but fun all thevsame
This was the first warm day in the past 20. Anxious to get out hade a time on GN . Was the only time available on line so I grabbed it. Hit a small bucket and went out alone . Caught up to a single after 6 holes. We played out together. Greens were in good shape but it was hard to find dry land on the fare ways. Always a challenge when you can not take carts on course, slows up the game!
Great Carolina course
It was a very nice course, layout was interesting, with tough holes, and holes to allow you to get back into a scoring mode. The conditions were very good for this time of year, can only imagine how nice it is in summer. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I have play many courses in Myrtle Beach, and this course ranks up there with their qualities.
Great time
Nice folks, facilities in great shape, beautiful course.
Not the course for our type of game
My husband and I had heard so much about The Prserve at Jordan Lake and the sister course Chapel Ridge. We decided to give The Preserve a chance after finding a decent deal on GolfNow and because the temperature wold probaby result in the course not being super busy.
We found the staff to be excellent and very glad we were there. They were very helpful and provided some great advice.
We were going to play as a twosome but the starter asked if two sIngles could join us. Not a problem with these guys joining us. We appreciated them asking us if we could be paired up instead of just automatically making us a foursome.
We found the course to be bit more challenging then we expected. You really need to know where to land and place your shots. The greens were a little slower than what we normally play but that could be due to the rain earlier in the week. Very pretty course as the course wraps through the neighborhoof with lovely homes.
We will more than likely give Chapel Ridge a chance but more than likely not return to The Preservend because it is not a courise for our games. We are glad we play there and gave it a chance.
Beautiful clubhouse, great staff, challenging and very hilly course.
If you play make sure that you have plenty of balls.
I think you have to makeep your own assessment of this course and come to your own conclusions if this is the place for your game.
Kinda Wet today!
Course was in pretty good shape other than some areas were really wet. Also wish people would fix there ball marks, our group fixed numerous on every green. Pace of play was good, but not sure why they let people go off the back in front of other foursomes. That is kinda aggravating. I would recommend the course but would not pay the high rate, but would look for a golf now deal.
Great staff and effort, but too unforgiving
I feel bad giving only 3 stars, because the staff is very professional and friendly, and they invest a lot in keeping the course up very nicely.
But jeez... I've played here 6 times, and every never enjoyed myself. This'll be the last time.
I suppose if you are a great player, you can enjoy the course. BUt if you don't hit lasers down the center, then be sure to bring a dozen cheap balls, cuz your gonna need them all. The slightest error is punished with lost ball every time... In the wood for sure... there's no finding them there. But even if you are in the first cut, balls get plugged in so deep you only might get lucky enough to find it. Too frustrating for me... I know golf is supposed to be hard, but this is too random.
And because everyone else is busy looking for balls, the pace is pretty slow.
Beautiful course, challenging for first timers
What a beautiful course. Relatively easy par 3's countered with long, challenging 4's and 5's with narrow landing areas on most drives with bunkers throughout. Course and greens were in amazing condition, and according to all staff we spoke to the greens were as fast as they'll be all year, which was little comfort for all the puts that rolled by the hole. I won't lie, this course beat me up, and I had a lot of tough decisions to make on second shots about playing smart and laying up (even on some par 4's!) but I loved every minute of it. Barely saw anyone the whole time, even playing as a twosome. A 4:15 round even with a stop to pick up a sandwich and a beer at the turn. One of the best and toughest courses I have played in the Triangle area.
A real gem
Love playing the Preserve. . Try to play it every chance i get. . The greens are tricky, but overal a fair test.
Everyone needs to play here!
This is such a great course! If you haven't been out here, make the little trip, and you won't regret it.
Good conditions, a long course (compared to most others around the area), and a great staff.
Only problem is the rate of play...
This is my second time playing this course, and both times have been riddled with slow playing 4-somes.
Also, the neighborhood this course is in, is incredibly nice! So enjoy the houses!!
Do Rangers Still Exist
Two groups that were together held up the entire course. We had a 12:10 tee time, started on time and everything went down hill from there. The front nine took 2:40. I spoke to the starter at the turn and told him it was extremely slow. We left the course with 3 holes to play after being on the back nine for 2:10. The course was open in front of the two groups in front of us. We never saw a ranger the entire day, on a Friday afternoon with perfect conditions.
Belle journée
Il ne faut pas avoir peur de perdre quelques balles lors de votre premier tour sur ce golf ! La plus part des fairways sont en devers. Etant donné la distance entre deux trous, il faut impérativement prendre une voiturette.
Wow!!!!
I haven't had a Golf experience quite like that in a long time. This was the first time I have played the Preserve, or should I say it played me. Challenging doesn't even describe the round. Staff was friendly and the person I played with was also impressed. The only question is ... When am I going back?
Thank you,
A very nice course
The Preserve has the best greens around of all the courses we have played during the late summer and early fall. Fairways could be a little better, but for the most part, the course is in excellent condition. It's a great value for $27.00.
The bathroom was out of soap and out of paper towels, and the staff was missing for awhile. I also had to get my own cart from near the cart room, but no big deal
