Random People Walking by is Intimidating
This was my first time playing Audubon Park Golf Course, and I have to say I was a bit nervous during my round. I'm a novice with decent iron contact by playing several rounds a month. But this course presented a few more unqiue challenges that likely effected my round. People walking in the park, for me, is intimidating. Now let me be clear...there are a few holes that are directly next to walking paths (and I have no self esteem qualms about hitting a worm-burner 25' in front of the tee box), and a solid shank would make a few people dance. That luckily did not happen to me - but the thought of it potentially happening made feel awkward every tee shot on those holes.
The only downside during my round was non-golfers walking the golf pathways... That's not the club's fault; but I had wait a few minutes for 3 people to clear off the hole before I'd actually tee off.
Besides my unforgiving fear of hitting someone...this course was very different being mostly par3s. It was a good lesson in shot planning as this course challenges your club selection and precision. Some of the greens needed repairs, but overall this has to be the best landscaped (and most beautiful) golf course I've been on in the New Orleans area.
I would go back to play again with some friends, because 18 holes here can be completed in under 3hrs.
Beautiful course in a beautiful setting.
Audubon is a gem. Only minutes away from Downtown New Orleans, it's an executive course that plays plenty tough. The price is right and the round usually takes three hours or less. You'll love the experience.
Beautiful
Great golf in a beautiful setting. Above average condition with water coming into play on several holes. Some deep sand bunkers and greens that have slops that can be a challenge to read. A must play in New Orleans and since this is an executive course, it can be played in less time than a regular course. Nice if you're on vacation and want to slip away for a few hours. Audubon Zoo is just across Magazine Street.
great time
excellent course, fairways, greens, path, scenery, a great time was had not at the office. a couple greens were partially fenced off
Good course
Great course mostly par 3 and par 4 love the short game
Gonzales golfer
First time playing the course. They don't allow carts on the fairway which keeps the fairways in great condition. The course was really short with a lot of par 3's, some par 4''s and 3 par 5's but still a lot of fun. I would play this course again.
Nice place to work on your game
Good course to work on your irons. Lots of par 3s. The course was in good shape, but greens could use some work.
Great course if you want to stay close.
We were visiting the French Quarter and wanted to get a round in, and we enjoyed it. Staff was very friendly. They had gotten a ton of rain the night before, so it was a little sloppy, but understandable. (back in Missouri, it would have taken days to dry out) Didn't realize it was a short course(par 62), but still had a fun time. Thank you!
Recovery
On a day that was BEAUTIFUL after a few days of high winds and heavy rain the course was in great condition. Some trees fell down around the course, but were cleaned up so that they did not interfere with the course or the driving path. The greens were just prepped so they were slow, but I was happier about the fact they're setting it up for the weekend rounds.
I can can compliment the course over and over because they take care of this course so well.
Worst round I've ever had at the course and I didn't care because the atmosphere was still perfect.
Great value for your money
Enjoyed the course thoroughly!
It was in good shape and the pace of play was excellent.
Would recommend this course to any who visit New Orleans.
1st Round of the year
Enjoyed the round, and the company.
It was a beautiful day and the course was in good
condition despite all the rain. The value is unbeatable,
can't wait to go back.
Not at its very best, but good deal overall
About a third of the greens had a significant amount of stress and were being fertilized. The rest of the greens were in fair shape. The course was soggy after a long week of rain but was very playable. Fairways and tee boxes were great. Lots of par 3's but it was a nice break from the conventional 18 hole courses elsewhere.
No course marshall in sight when I played, and a fivesome was teeing off #1. Thankfully we were able to tee off the back 9, and pace of play was very good.
Got a great golfnow deal so at that rate I can't complain too much. I will play again later in the Spring when hopefully the greens have recovered.
Well kept greens excellent
Have played here befor, but course is in even better condition, would recommend.
Great layout!
Terrific design and we'll manicured course. Greens were fast and firm. Excellent condition for winter time. The oak trees are magnificent!
Slow play
I played this course before and both times it has taken almost 4 hours. Don't think I will play here unless it's early in the morning
Very nice muni/exe course
Very friendly and helpful staff. Got us out ahead of T-time and paired up with 2 very friendly local golfers.
Audobon Park For Two
The course was in great shape for early December, and the greens were imaculate. We were began play at 10:00 am and were done 2 and half hours later. We will play it again before we leave.
Great condition, as always
Fun and a good challenge for a par 62 course. Great for a short-game workout.
With kids
My 9 year old really enjoyed her round and she shot a 42 on the front 9 beating her big brother who shot a 50 ! Enjoyed round ,staff was very friendly Greens were very fast!
