The Shark's turned in what's widely regarded as the second-toughest course at PGA WEST - Greg Norman Course in La Quinta.

No small feat considering the developers of the neighboring TPC Stadium ordered Pete Dye to make it, "the hardest damn golf course in the world."

"There's a difference," said Jack Guevera, a golfer who's played both. "You might think you have it easy if you play the Norman after the Stadium .... But probably not."

Here's the difference: Dye tries to kill you at TPC Stadium. Norman only wants to beat you to a pulp.

Not that pummeling does not have its highlights. Norman's 216-yard, par-3 13th is the kind of hole that seizes your attention and lingers in memory after the round.

What little fairway there is curves around toward a man-made lake. It is also tilted down on a sharp angle to the water, giving the golfer the effect of hitting along a ledge.

Each shot is a tap dance here. You could not even get odds in Vegas on your chances of avoiding all of the deep, slanted bunkers that squeeze the mini fairway even tighter.

Good course for old golfer.

Course is in excellent condition I can play here three times a week at my age of 81 years old teeing at the gold tee box. The reason why I said that I can play times a week is that you can bring your golf cart closer to the green or anywhere in the fairways you don't walk further to hit your golf balls then walk back to the cart path.

Only one complaint

Was a great day on this Greg Norman course. Well maintained and good value for money. My only complaint is having bunkers in the middle of a fairway. I rarely hit it straight and then find you’re in a bunker when you do....hate a course designer that puts bunkers there. Anyway, nice to have these kind of problems. Have fun out there.....

amazing course and in great condition

first off you must understand these courses are desert courses which means primarily target golf.Sure there is marginal room for error but this is not just a grip it and rip it course.You must stay within the element or you will find your score quickly elevating with added penalties.A course rocky sand lie right of the fairways and in between landing areas they have designated,Sure I see tons of people just dropping back on to grass but to play this correctly if your not playing it where it lies then YES there is a penalty for moving your ball ever.this course is made to make you play smart or suffer otherwise.Very beautiful,great design and just all out fun to play and remember out here the ball rolls for awhile so yes it is easy to find yourself off the fairway if not cautious.Greens are amazing and really roll even though they look somewhat flat with just minimal andulation.
