Peebles Golf Club
About
HS Colt designed course with good quality turf, greens and the stunning views. It is a prime example of a challenging Scottish upland golf course described as 'not totally flat'.
Peebles is an upland golf course of great character. The air is clean and the surrounding hills provide something of a micro-climate. Of course it sometimes rains and in spring and autumn there are occasional windy days but we get many days of glorious summer sunshine. Bring a sweater and your rain-gear just in case. It is all part of the challenge of golfing in Scotland.
The golf course is not totally flat but the slopes are not unduly demanding. Motorised buggies are available (3 only). Contact the Professional to hire one.
The club has a new clubhouse, opened in 1998 by H.R.H. Prince Andrew, Duke of York. Showers, a comfortable bar, lounge and restaurant await you after your round. The members and staff will offer you a warm welcome.

Always a pleasure.
Course always well kept, staff always friendly and helpful. Was very busy last time I went so pace of play was fairly slow.
Great day out at Peebles
With a great weather forecast we decided on a change of scene having played our own course all winter. Course was in great condition and no temporary greens. On a beautiful sunny day I was reminded of how stunning the views are from the course. Felt like a different world from Edinburgh but only 40 mins away.
Winter Golf visit
This was excellent, it’s great to play other courses at such great value. The catering was excellent afterwards.
Last minute tound
Great price, great course, all greens on, no mats, good food afterwards
Testing course which played long
Course in great condition but found in quite hilly especially holes 2, 3 and 4. Will remember to bring my trolley next time. Reception staff very helpful and corrected my error of booking the wrong day. Greens in great conditions as were the fairways.
Disrespectful players ahead spoilt a good day
Once again a great round of golf at a great course in fantastic condition for this time of year and no winter greens which was a bonus.
Day was spoilt by a disrespectful pair playing in front of us. Looked like a Father coaching teenage Son (Members). Slow play was incredible with no interest in letting others play through. We had 3 frustrated groups waiting behind us. Group of 3 behind us eventually walked off at the 10th hole.
Over 4 and a half hours for a round of golf becomes tiresome.
Pity as I love visiting this gem of a course which surprisingly never seems overly busy.
Standard Course. Nice Clubhouse
Course was in good condition. Greens had been recently readied for winter and had more sand on them than in the bunkers. That made it quite tough. It’s reasonably hilly so might be worth a buggy. Generally though it’s a fairly average course. Nothing special but not expensive. If you’re looking for somewhere to play as part of a trip there are better places nearby I’m sure. Lunch in the clubhouse after was lovely and the staff really good. I’d recommend it for lunch more than golf.
Peebles golf course
Thoroughly enjoyed day out at Peebles golf course
Even though torrential rain day before course in excellent condition
It was my partners first ever golf trip and even though very nervous on first tee she was helped by other golfers putting her at ease she loved every minute of the course and will be back and was amazed at the magnificent views on offer .
My only criticism for a beginner lady it was an awfull long carry to fairway on numerous holes my home course is addressing this issue also but it didn’t put her off
Golf day away
The course had very heavy overnight rain but was still in very good condition the greens were a we bit slow because of the rain didn’t have a bad hole on the course the pro in the shop was very helpful to us would definitely love to play it again in drier weather
Oasis a short drive from Edinburgh
Twice I’ve now played this course this year. Due to flooding out west I had a golf outing cancelled last minute last Friday. I had all my equipment ready loaded in the car, and thought I’d go on Golfnow to see what was available. I got Peebles for a fair price and knew from my previous round that the course would cope well with previous night’s rain. It didn’t disapoint! No holes closed and slight puddles up by the 11th area which is understandable as there is a lovely creek that runs from the hills down the left side. I met a long term member and played from the 16th with him. Thanks to Richard for company and coffee at the end of the round! Well presented clubhouse and polite staff.
I’d recomend this course if you need a break from the city, and course prices. Re-charge and play Peebles!

Great course and friendly staff
Although a lot of rain the course was in great condition and friendly bar staff
Course with a view
Peebles golf course has one of the best views your likely to find on any course in Scotland. It's interesting, challenging, a good workout and and in great condition.
Greens par excellence
A very keenly priced round of golf at Peebles today.
All staff were very friendly and the course is beautifully maintained. Felt relatively short off the yellow tees, but a bit of wind/sprinkling of rain and some tricky pin positions on undalating greens made it a real test.
Will return for sure.
Picturesque course
Peebles was in great condition with very good greens. The course has beautiful views all round. Not too long and not too tight - an enjoyable course to play. It’s a little bit hilly but we are all above 64 and managed to walk it fairly easily.
Great value for £24. The only downside was the lack of hot food before our round, but coffee, sandwiches and snacks were available. The staff were very apologetic.
Overall we had a lovely day and would definitely return
Sunday stroll
Very nice course.Well kept and no mats of the fairways.
Clubhouse was very nice and staff in the club shop excellent. We will return in the summer.
Great course
Some lovely challenges on this course. It was my first time playing here but it played well. Always aware of the next flag and staff in the clubhouse were really friendly. There’s an EV charge point on site too which can be very handy.
