SilverRock Resort
About
SilverRock Resort is the city of La Quinta's first municipal golf course. This Arnold Palmer Classic Course is the home course of the Bob Hope Classic. At 7,239 yards, it is the longest course in Palm Springs and one of the longest courses on the PGA Tour. SilverRock sits right at the base of the Santa Rosa and Coral Mountains, which provide a stunning backdrop for every hole. It is closer to the mountains than any other public golf course in the area. The rugged landscape provides rocky outcroppings and massive native bunkers to contend with throughout the course. Beautiful water features also come into play on several holes. The SilverRock layout is challenging but the widths of the fairways are fair and playable and the holes are diverse enough to appeal to a range of different skill levels.

This was a great par 3! This is zoomed in so you dont quite get the percetion of the distance. A solid 175 or so, over water and well protected. Photo submitted by ThatGolfGuy on 09/26/2016

Beautiful course
Always beautiful and a challenge! We love this course!
Great course
This is certainly a top Palm Springs area course. Great shape and location. I was a little disappointed in the ongoing construction. it’s been like this since at least 2019 and it just keeps expanding with no end in sight. Pace of play was not as good as usual. We had a slow group in front of us that held us back all day. They were late to the tee and slow all day. Usually they do better with this. All in all, it was a great day of golf on a beautiful course!
Thank you for recognizing the quality of our course and for your patience with the construction and pace of play. We appreciate your feedback and are continuously working to improve every golfer's experience.
Disappointing
The presence of many incomplete buildings and structures really distracts from the appeal. There is no clubhouse and amenities are nonexistent. Our cart didn’t have a pencil for the scorecard. There is no scorecard box on the course. The GPS monitors were not on or working when we started and we had to ask for assistance during the round. The course Marshalls consistently harassed us about pace of play even though the group behind us was more than one hole behind the whole round. At a green fee of $200 per head this was a ridiculously bad experience. For the resident rate of $60 it would feel appropriately like the muni course it actually is.
We're truly sorry your experience did not meet your expectations, especially given the concerns with amenities and service you've outlined. Rest assured, we're working on these issues and appreciate your feedback.
Nice Course a& Great Staff
This is a beautiful, well kept course and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The "clubhouse" is a double-wide and the course has an abandoned development around it, but the golf course is worth it!
a challenge
course, visually pleasing, verychallenging. Bring A game. Tough bunkers, unseen water
First time
We booked the first tee time out as many reviews were complaining about pace of play. This was our first experience at Silver Rock. The course is beautiful and challenging. A true desert golf experience . Unfortunately the club house is under construction and gives the overall course a low cost low quality vibe but quickly compensated by the beauty of the course.
Also after all those negative pace of play reviews the course signals through many messages on the golf cart screen that you are below their targeted 4h pace which is good but 4h on a course like this one and for a four sum is challenging. We did it in 3h50 and definitely felt rushed. Nevertheless I will absolutely not hesitate to go back.
Course was in excellent shape. Best I’ve seen it in years. They have brought this course back to life and had some amazing views
Great course and layout but surrounding construction ongoing and no clubhouse.
WE HAD 30 MILE AND HOUR WINDS. I SHOULD HAVE CANCELLED WHEN I CHECKED IN. WE ONLY PLAYED 9 HOLES. THE COURSE HAD A LOT OF SAND WITH THE WIND. OH WELL. NEXT TIME. YOU CAN'T BLAME MOTHER NATURE.
Nice Course / Construction mess was unappealing
Played our first round on our boys trip here. Very nice golf course and conditions were excellent. Unfortunately, it looks like an unfinished construction site at almost every turn. Once they can complete everything going on it will be an awesome place to play but the visual eyesore of the unfinished buildings and stacks of building material took away from what the experience eventually will be.
When will the Construction be completed.
Loved the course and friendly staff. The unfinished buildings everywhere take away from the scenic views.
Better second time
After playing here last week, today's round was so much better in terms of pace of play. We never had a group press us all round and caught up to the group in front on #15. Course conditions were pretty identical as last week. Staff still super friendly.
We love this course and enjoy watching the progress surrounding the area. We have played it many times over the last 5 years. This year we introduced a new couple to this course on Monday AM with a 7:20 tee time. We teed off on time and noticed there was no one in front of us. By the time we reached Hole # 2 (which was 12 minutes after we teed off) a marshal came out to us as we are chipping into #2 green and told us we need to speed up and catch the group in front of us. This was extremely irritating because we were already playing ahead of pace. By the time we got to Hole #6 - which was only 1 hr 12 min into our round, another marshal told us to pick it up. Again, as a foursome we played well ahead of time - and finished our round in 4 hrs 7 mins - due to 2 bathroom breaks and a drink cart purchase. We rarely saw the foursome behind us and never saw anyone in front of us. This was beyond a pleasant experience for any of us and we doubt we will play this course again. To pay an above average green fee, and unable to enjoy the round or beauty of the course, because of the constant prodding - felt like we were a herd of cattle. It totally decimated the experience for us all.
beautful
Beautiful course, excellent weather and pace of play was good
Thank you for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear you love our course and the challenges it offers.
