SilverRock Resort

About
SilverRock Resort is the city of La Quinta's first municipal golf course. This Arnold Palmer Classic Course is the home course of the Bob Hope Classic. At 7,239 yards, it is the longest course in Palm Springs and one of the longest courses on the PGA Tour. SilverRock sits right at the base of the Santa Rosa and Coral Mountains, which provide a stunning backdrop for every hole. It is closer to the mountains than any other public golf course in the area. The rugged landscape provides rocky outcroppings and massive native bunkers to contend with throughout the course. Beautiful water features also come into play on several holes. The SilverRock layout is challenging but the widths of the fairways are fair and playable and the holes are diverse enough to appeal to a range of different skill levels.

This was a great par 3! This is zoomed in so you dont quite get the percetion of the distance. A solid 175 or so, over water and well protected. Photo submitted by ThatGolfGuy on 09/26/2016

Memorable!
Silverock is a challenging layout with at least seven or eight holes that stay long in the memory. The back 9 is fantastic and I say that despite there being two weak holes - a short par 3, number 13 I think and disappointingly number 18, a short par 4 that just doesn’t work lacking proper definition.
All in all a great day out and thoroughly recommended. Note to greenkeeoing crew - the condition of the tees is not up to the standard of the rest of the course.
Great Mountain Course!
Excellent course and fantastic scenery. The surrounding pause in construction make it a but visually less desirable but the course itself was outstanding.
Very Nice
Course was in great condition. Employees were very friendly and helpful. For me it was a fairly technical course. They are in a difficult situation with some big construction plans and an overall failed situation. But that has no affect on the quality of the people and course, range, location. If you’re looking for fancy clubhouses- nope.
Day at SilverRock
Beautiful course especially the back nine. The temporary club house/club store and construction was kind of an eye sore but the course played great. Driving range was a bonus.
Fun and challenging
Try to ignore all the incomplete structures that rob the beauty of the natural scenery.. temporary pro shop is a negative. Appears as if the construction is in limbo and been in a stall for a long time. But the course itself I would play again.should offer better prices though.
Still Under Construction …
Booked for second Christmas in a row hoping to show the wife a beautiful clubhouse and grounds. Was greeted with a construction site in disarray. No “clubhouse” and grill closed on Christmas (slightly understandable) but the sheer amount of unfinished homes and grounds made it feel like I was still playing in my buddies back yard. Course layout is fun. Wish for the ugliness the least they could have done is not charged $35 for a rider that wasn’t paying.
Don't believe the bad reviews
I booked and then read the reviews--lots of bad ones. I almost cancelled but decided to go anyhow.
I'm VERY happy that I did go. I have no idea what people are complaining about. The layout and natural environment are amazing. Yes--no clubhouse--a trailer (nice trailer for that matter) and the course is not 'perfect'--but it is all in very good shape. People also complained about the staff. Again--they were all very nice to me and my group.
I highly recommend this course.
Little wet
Some scabby spots pretty wet lot of mud greens were good overall course was in pretty good shape
Course needs work
It's early in the season so much of my comments about the course condition may improve. There were a number of areas marked GUR and more that should have been. The fairways contained a number of brown spots. The greens were in good condition.
Best greens played during this trip
The greens were the smoothest I played during this early December trip.
