About
Balbirnie Park Golf Club serves as a prime example of a traditional parkland design with a layout that follows the natural contours of the land very closely. The gently rolling landscape lends some interest to the course but the undulations are invitingly gentle rather than being overly difficult. Long hitters will really shine on the golf course since it greatly rewards straight shots with some distance. Golfers should beware though, it is a tricky layout that punishes errant shots with thick rough and densely wooded areas. Balbirnie Park Golf Club finishes with what is arguably the most challenging hole. This par 5 requires two strokes, both blind to the hole, to lay-up before a heavily protected putting surface situated in front of the clubhouse. There are bunkers to the right and a large tree to the left as well as a burn that runs along the entire front of the green.

Perfect Weather on Perfect Golf Course
Course was in excellent condition with perfect fairways and greens true and fast. Lovely parkland course but make sure not too off-line as are plenty of trees.
Lovely setting
Course was in excellent condition
Very good layout, setting fantastic with lots of mature trees. Lots of good holes meant you had to play a variety of clubs. 3 ball took just over 3 hours to go round. Nice well stocked. Pro shop and very nice clubhouse

Balbirnie GC Visit
Went to Balbirnie and enjoyed a fantastic course in great condition on a really stunningly beautiful day. It was the first time that my friend has played there and he was really impressed by the course and it’s setting in the lovely grounds next to Balbirnie House. We will most certainly visit this warm and friendly course once again.

Misty outing at Balbirnie
Weather was very misty with no wind and the course was heavy underfoot from the recent rain, but the greens were in good condition and receptive to good a approach shot, the course has a good variation of holes with the mist seeming to lengthen them, the pace of play was good, we weren't held up at all completing the round in 3 hours. With the covid conditions we did not use the clubhouse but it looked modern and spacious.
Parkland Gem
Booked this course on a whim for an extra game to finish off our golf week in Fife. So glad we did, course was in great condition and the variations of holes are great. Holes 12 through 16 especially.
Cracking Course and Even Better Clubhouse Hospitality
Booked this as a last minute thing through Golf Now as the sun was out, when we turned up Scott the pro was very helpful asking us if we had played before etc, telling us a bit about the course, we played the golf which was mixed but the course was in fantastic condition, a true credit to the green staff. When we finished we went in for post match refreshments and found the bar staff more than accommodating, we asked if they were serving food and we had just made it in time, the food was plentiful, freshly made and of an excellent standard, full compliments to the chef, thanks again for the warm welcome and see you again soon

Superb parkland
Went out here for a change of scenery and thoroughly enjoyed it! Course is in great condition. Plenty of challenges and different approaches to play.

A real gem
Played on a Thursday, sun was shining birds were singing course was quiet and beautifully kept. All staff were friendly. The few members out on the course were very helpful. A really must course to play. Highly recommended, thanks Balbirnie

We enjoyed our game, course in good condition for february.
But slow. Play round took us nearly 4 hours.

nice course but weather not great a lot of leaves around being a parkland course but no one clearing them off the greens
Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Course condition good. Shame the greens have just been sanded. but appreciate this needs doing
Winter golf
Not quite winter,still on proper greens,lots of leaves on the ground,but this to be expected at this time of year,didn't stop our enjoyment of a wonderful golf course layout,greens still in great condition and we had a great day.
Solid play
The course was not very hard but some holes were very difficult to see. Weather was ok a bit of everything. Good maintenance overal. watch out for the wall at the 18th.
