About
Marshall Canyon Golf Course is nestled within the scenic foothills that overlook La Verne. The course is seemingly short at 6,110 yards from the back tees but it's not to be underestimated. The hilly terrain provides more than enough uneven lies and blind shots. The fast greens are also some of the toughest in the area but they are nicely balanced by wide, player-friendly fairways. The hard-to-read greens have subtle but tricky breaks that get easier once you've played the golf course before but even then, they still present some challenges. Marshall Canyon is a local favorite not only for the challenging round but also because it's a good value with great scenery. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and will often catch a glimpse of the many deer that roam the course.

Golfer Reviews
B A D Pace of Play
The course was in decent condition, though not top quality, which is understandable considering the green fee was only $55, including a cart.
The pace of play, however, was terrible. We did not see a marshal until the 14th hole. When I asked about the slow play, he explained that there was a tournament on the course. I also pointed out that the trash bin at the 11th hole was overflowing, and I hope it was taken care of afterward.
There was some confusion with our pairings. I had canceled three spots and lost $30 in non-refundable reservation fees. Fortunately, the staff allowed one player to join another group so that my friend and I could play together.
Would I recommend Marshall Canyon? At this time, no. The course has potential, but improvements are needed, particularly with pace of play, overall course conditions, and the quality of the bunkers.
Course great only 1 issues the starter made me ride with another person even after paying full price for a cart never have encountered that situation before
Always enjoy playing this course . Many challenges and scenery.
Surprising find - great conditions and super clean
First time playing this course - greens were fast and course was very well maintained. Bathrooms were super clean. We were pleasantly surprised and found the course quite enjoyable. Pace of play was a bit slow on the back nine, but we expected that since it was a weekend afternoon round. Total pace was 5 hours, but it really didn’t feel that long. Only thing that could be improved is GPS in the carts.
Favorite course
Always enjoy the challenge of this course.players are normally always friendly and patient. Course is a great challenge
First time playing course
For an LACO course I would recommend this course, well maintained, minimum gopher holes, I was impressed with the course and facilities nice and clean.
The only thing I didn't like was the steepness of the the greens, you hit your ball uphill when it stops it rolls back down, or you just tap it and it keeps going off the green.
Localnplayer
Slow pace for an early time but always grateful times
The course has nice view
Pretty narrow is a tough course for beginners. I recommend it to intermediate level and above.
cool
I like the course because the greens are not easy to read...fairways are well mowed so your drive rolls a lot...not as many tree obstacles as years ago...I don't like the fact that even though there might not be anyone ready to tee off on the first tee box, they make you wait instead of just letting you go ahead and tee off...this practice ends up with you having a 5+ round and then the Marshall tells you you're taking too long and causing a back up.
