About
The Amelia River Club is located on Amelia Island, just north of Jacksonville and within minutes of the historic town of Fernandina Beach. Renowned as one of the best-conditioned courses in the area with incredibly smooth greens, sculpted around a forest of majestic Live Oaks, Sable Palms, Pines and Wax Myrtles.
This par 72 track, designed by Tom Jackson, plays to a yardage of 6,878 from the back tees. It's pristine condition features well manicured rolling fairways, smooth bunkers and greens that challenge all skill levels. This course is unique in character and is a treat to play.
The Amelia River consists of 18 holes of challenging golf where ball control and accuracy are keys to a great game. The fairways are wide and open, giving the golfer a sense of a traditional Scottish links course on some holes and a narrow tree lined experience on others. The 13th hole is a good example of the course’s challenges. This long par five runs along the border of the Fernandina Beach Airport and is a strategic three shot hole. Too long and left at lay up and you will have to deal with a water hazard. The wind can play havoc with this hole as it reminds one of an open links style design. In contrast #9 is a tree lined par four with very little room for error and includes a forced carry over Alligator Creek.
The signature 17th hole is a par three surrounded by water demanding an accurate shot to the island green which closely resembles another very famous golf hole in our area! The final hole ends at the edge of the Amelia River and its expansive tidal marsh.

Great Course!
Great conditions for January golf. Greens were amazing and rolled fast and true. I enjoyed the layout as well. I will be playing here again.

Average Condition, PACE of PLAY TERRIBLE!!!!
Course average conditions, greens pretty good, with some speed.. The first 3 holes we saw the ranger twice, never to be seen again..
On #9 tee, there were 3 groups waiting to tee off.. Ridiculous, and then the back, the group we were following was 3-4 holes behind.. 3.5 hour back 9 ... Crazy

Amelia River Golf Worth a Visit
Very nice layout, moderately challenging and very well maintained course. Definitely worth a visit.
The 19th hole patio food & drink is also a nice way to end your round.

Not worth $100 to play
We were in from NJ for 4 days and played this course the last day of our stay. We weren't impressed with the course at all. Although we did play it the day after playing the TPC Sawgrass Valley Course. Played Jan 12 and the weather was beautiful. Pace of play was slow on the front but much better on the back. Starter there was great and we had a good time but not worth $100 Hot Deal.

Very neat course
Course was in great dormant shape, overseeding looked great. Greens putted extremely well even though they just lightly sanded them. A couple holes run along the airport, which is unique. The course had a little bit of everything, some holes wide open, some holes tight. A nice amount of hazards but not overbearing. Staff was great. Only complaint is that the grill closed at 4, so really couldn't get anything to eat afterwards. For $60 on a hot deal, it was a steal.
Saw someone say that the bunkers didn't have sand, I didn't see a single bunker without sand, and they were all raked well.

a hidden gem that should stay hidden!
a course with little to no character, for the price I was charged I did not expect to see grown men openly urinating every 3-4 holes. I’ve played 100’s of Golf courses throughout Florida this was the worse experience. Amelia river golf club is overrated and overpriced ($13) for range balls is one example of ridiculous prices. If you want to see members and their guest pass up bathrooms to urinate openly this is your place.

Over rated
Only reason it's rated so high is cause of membership reviews is all I can figure out. Sand traps have no sand. Course has little to no character.should be called the airport club not river club only one hole plays along the river and not sure if this is Normal but saw two people urinating in the bushes and one of them was pretty much in the wide open between 10 and 18. Pretty sure that's not cool last time I checked. Very disappointed
