About
The Amelia River Club is located on Amelia Island, just north of Jacksonville and within minutes of the historic town of Fernandina Beach. Renowned as one of the best-conditioned courses in the area with incredibly smooth greens, sculpted around a forest of majestic Live Oaks, Sable Palms, Pines and Wax Myrtles.
This par 72 track, designed by Tom Jackson, plays to a yardage of 6,878 from the back tees. It's pristine condition features well manicured rolling fairways, smooth bunkers and greens that challenge all skill levels. This course is unique in character and is a treat to play.
The Amelia River consists of 18 holes of challenging golf where ball control and accuracy are keys to a great game. The fairways are wide and open, giving the golfer a sense of a traditional Scottish links course on some holes and a narrow tree lined experience on others. The 13th hole is a good example of the course’s challenges. This long par five runs along the border of the Fernandina Beach Airport and is a strategic three shot hole. Too long and left at lay up and you will have to deal with a water hazard. The wind can play havoc with this hole as it reminds one of an open links style design. In contrast #9 is a tree lined par four with very little room for error and includes a forced carry over Alligator Creek.
The signature 17th hole is a par three surrounded by water demanding an accurate shot to the island green which closely resembles another very famous golf hole in our area! The final hole ends at the edge of the Amelia River and its expansive tidal marsh.

Very Nice Course
The course was in very good condition. Greens were true and consistent. The difficulty of course is up to you. Pick the tees you feel like playing. The staff here is friendly, not stuffy. The bunkers need better sand is my only complaint. Hardpans and ruble made bunkers tough.

Great track for the money ($92)
First time playing this course as was in town visiting family. Really nice layout. Couple of holes next to the airport which is actually pretty cool to watch private planes/jets take off right next to you...plus skydivers were landing there. Course is in great shape and they keep the pace moving. Saw the Bev cart 6-8 times, reasonable prices for beers. Food at the turn was pretty good although a tad pricey for what you get. Staff was great. Range is decent. Chipping area green was not in good shape. Putting range was decent. A lot of shade near most tee boxes which was good because it was hotter than Hades. (July gold in Florida, expect it). I would play again and recommend.

Nice course on Amelia Island
This course was very nice and quite enjoyable to play. It's very close to the local airport so expect planes to be taking off and landiing depending on the time of day. There was a.steady stream of activity from 11:30-1:30ish on the day I was there, but I enjoyed seeing the different planes.
Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in great shape! I enjoyed the roomy layout and design. The staff was quite enjoyable, every single person!
. I would definitely play this course again, with the one caveat, being, if I can get another GolfNow discount. Otherwise, the 99-129 green fees are. A hit passed my budget! Still scoring a 78 wasn't a bad day!

My favorite affordable course in the area, greens are coming back nice after aeration. Tee boxes are pretty good could use a little work. Layout is great. Not a driver off every tee. They have recently worked hard on making this public course very nice. New club house coming soon.

Great track with great views
Booked to play with my son. The course was in great condition with the greens being very nice. Moderate difficulty from the blue tees with some narrow fairways and semi blind approaches. We enjoyed and would recommend.

Amelia River is a gem!
This course is a gem. The staff is friendly and professional which sets the tone for your golf experience, and that’s important. The course is not only beautifully laid out but it is in great shape. The fairways are lush and the greens have enough subtle undulations to make you pay attention even on close outs. The greens rolled just a little slow, and only a little, most likely it would be my guess, as a result of coming back from recently being punched. But they will roll plenty fast when they’ve completely bounced back. Would play this course everyday were it just a little closer. Also, looks like they have brand new golf carts. This course is totally worth the trip to Amelia. Play it, you’ll be glad you did!
