Good course, GREAT staff
I play here at least once a week. Conditions are decent and the layout is fairly simple. The staff here is what keeps me coming back. Always friendly and very helpful. There’s nothing super fancy about it, but I always enjoy my round. Pace can get pretty slow at times, but so do most other courses in this area.
Forgiving layout
Teeing off on a Saturday at 9:45 only took a bit over 4 hours. Definitely will be back soon than later.
Alondra - 18
Greens are in horrible shape - Lots of bare spots, worn spots, disease, etc. Fairways and tee boxes not much better.
At least the greens were in good shape
I think the best word to describe this course is “average.” The fairways have some bare spots to them and on a couple of holes there wasn’t very much grass in front of the green. There are several fairways that do not have a clear cut line with the rough (put some headlights on those mowers). For the money there are several courses around that are in the same price range and are much better courses. I doubt that I’ll be coming back to this course.
Helpful Staff
This is a very forgiving and level course and the staff is quite helpful. I reserved a tee time with a $31.00 fee and the starter reduced it to $24.00 since the tee time was close to the twilight rates.
Golf by LAX
Had a few hours before my plane take off and went golfing , the course was busy but wait times was reasonable, no water hazard lots of sand
Staff was worst I have ever delt with
Staff was not friendly, my wife went with me to ride along and they agreed she could pay for cart fee only, that was fine, but then on the second hole another staff member came out and said i had to pay for full green fee for wife ($55) if she was going to ride along, this was horrible to hear and the lady who was driving cart for her daughter had to do the same, how does this happen that spectators who encourage the game have to pay full green fee?? I asked if we could just stick with paying cart fee and they said no and I would have to leave course if I didn't pay. I ended up paying full price for my wife to ride ($55) and I only paid $32 just does't make any sense to me. I will never go back to this course.. horrible service!
Too plain and flat
The course was too flat and the fairways were not maintained well enough. However, the staff at the pro house was very professional and nice.
How About a Marshal on the Course?
The starter has got to get control of how he lets people go out. We had a five some two head of us. We had a twosome in front, we were a threesome, with a single behind us and a twosome behind him. Of course we all ended up getting jammed behind the five some by the seventh hole and it stayed that way all the way through the 18th. A marshal has got to be put out on the course to keep things moving. The starter has got to stop these five some groups and group singles and doubles together to maintain efficiency on the course. Yes it is a public course - but this type of action is just ineptitude.
A Lack of Common Golf Courtesy & Poor Management
I have played this course before a few times. This round found the course in worse condition that the Links at Victoria and that one is built on a landfill. The course was hard as a rock - the greens were in horrific condition and that is before we get to the people that have no regard or courtesy for other golfers. People left the sand traps unraked after plodding through the middle of them - never mind a rake was available where they walked back out. They never repaired the marks on the green. They stepped all around each hole creating a mass of unevenness on just about every every approach to the pin. Then there are people who are playing in the wrong fairway due to an errant shot that think they can play their shot ignoring the players that are playing the proper fairway. And not once but on multiple occasions. And lastly there was the fivesome in front of us where each player took more time lining up their putts than 3 pros combined. Obviously a lot of money or just too much bragging rights were on the line. Their action caused three holes to open in front of them and a three foursome back up behind us. Seriously, if you want to play that type of golf - do it at a country club and not on a public course where there is already heavy usage. And what was even worse - no course marshal out on the course to prevent these types of events from occurring. So who is to blame? The people operating the course or the players or is the blame on both? This place needs a serious management wake up call and management enforcement of the rules and basic common courtesy and safety.
Oh, no 5-somes are becoming standard!
I have played Alondra Park many times in the past two years. Generally the pace of play has been tolerable, but the condition of the course has been poor. Lately, the situation has reversed: now, perhaps because there's new management, or perhaps because the drought is relieving, – but now the course is actually in good condition, with few bare patches in the fairways and only a few spots where methane is seeping up and preventing the dirt from growing. But now they are permitting fivesomes to play on the course, and the entire course's pace of play is getting slower and slower. Yet there is still no Marshall to enforce speed of play. Terrible,
Course conditions
Can tell there is a conflict on who's going to run this course. Owners now look like there milking every last dollar. Greens were terrible. Worst driving range balls in LA County. Can tell there is almost zero money put back in this course. We had a 9:30 tee time on a Saturday and no one behind us. Guess I'm not the only one who feels this way. Still cash only place. What's that tell you.

Course is in good condition
Course is best condition that I can remember, I have not played here for 2 years or so and said I would never play here again, they only accepted cash last time I played and now they do accept credit and debit cards, and now you can book tee times online. I played with a very nice man and we enjoyed our round, played in 4 hours so it was pleasant pace.
