Worst greens ever

Why bother playing golf if your ball wobbles on the putting green and doesn't roll? The greens at Alondra are like putting on a bumpy sponge. Good luck one putting. If you did you were either 1 foot away or got lucky and your ball hit the right bump just before the hole. WORST GREENS EVER. And the fairways are like concrete.

Play there if you got a good deal

The grass needs maintaining , but I get good deals there so I do not mind. It is convenient for me. Easy course to walk . The wholes sometimes are too close and miss guiding but nothing to ruin your experience. It is worth checking out

Most difficult Par 3 In California

This was a beautiful par 3 (years ago). The greens are extremely small making this course very difficult for the beginner but challenging for the average golfer. The greens are not in good condition which takes all the fun out of this course. If your good (lucky) enough to get on the greens then you have a bumpy ride to the hole, killing any birdie chances and shooting down the few pars you might make. This day the course was packed with slow groups and it made for a long day. All the trees and general layout make it worth coming back to (once in a while).

Last resort......

As one other reviewer mentioned, I live across from this course and will only play it as a last resort.

The only thing challenging about this course besides the crowned small greens, is the amount of patience you will need.

They do jam people out, the course is in mediocre condition at best at all times and the greens are different every month.

Alondra GC Par 3

This place could be a gem. But the greens & tee boxes are on top of each other. Shocked we didn't get hit.

Driving range is fantastic. $5 for 50 balls, shade from the sun, lit at night. Nets for short game.

Putting green & short game practice area are really nice. Very well maintained.

Cash only which seems like a front until you see that it is run by LA County.

Not much to offer from the clubhouse.

Great for beginners

I've been playing about 2 times a month for the last 6 months, all over the LA area. I'm somewhat of a beginners (shoot in the high 80's/ low 90's) and like the course because its inexpensive and easy to get on. Last time I played it was $13 to play and only $5 when I split the cart with my buddy. Overall to play at $1 a hole its well worth it.. Good for the beginner and being a public course you cant expect too much in terms of manicured greens and such.

Needs a makeover

I've ended up here a few times because I live nearby, and each time I am less impressed with this place. The course itself is boring and entirely unremarkable. Flat, few trees, hard bunkers, average grass condition. Everyone that works here, from the pro shop to the snack bar, seems to really dislike their job (if their attitude towards customers is any indication). What really bothers me is how the ownership/management just seems to be penny-pinching in every area possible.

It's cash only, and you have to pay separately for green fees ($30-40) and cart ($26 per cart). Seriously, a golf course that doesn't take credit card? And that can't figure out how to make one transaction for cart and green fees? They don't have a beverage cart, just an overpriced (cash only, of course) snack bar. They try to jam in as many fivesomes as humanly possible. The driving range doesn't provide tees on the mats. They don't provide divot repair mix in the carts. They don't put scorecards or pencils in the carts. The range itself is way overpriced. I could go on.

I live less than a mile away (just moved here recently), and if this course was halfway decent and made the slightest efforts to cater to its customers, I would probably join the mens club and play here at least a couple times per month. Instead, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

In regards to needs a makeover response...I totally agree with all he said...I was going to report the same reasons..All I had to do was copy and paste his complaints!

The worst thing about it I work for LA County and was embarrassed with this County course and the way they operate it...Really CASH ONLY. I have many friends and they won't play that course because of the reason "CASH ONLY" policy....Losing lots of revenue! I played many County courses but this one is the worst!!!
