Palmer at Geneva National Golf Club

About
The Palmer Course is just one of three championship courses at Geneva National Golf Club. The other two boast well known designers as well: Gary Player and Lee Trevino. All of the courses were carved from the lush countryside along the banks of Lake Como, the sprawling club is the second largest golf facility in Wisconsin. The Palmer Course is the most challenging of the three but the Player Course comes in at a close second. There is less water one this course but it still has a prominent presence throughout. The golf course begins with a tricky water hole, a par 3 that is crossed two by a meandering stream. The 17th is also memorable since it plays right along the lake. There are a few homes lining some of the fairways but they do not distract from the stunning scenery throughout the golf course.

Entertaining forest-then-lakeside romp with good recent renovations
Although all three of Geneva National’s courses are strong, the Palmer is the class of the bunch, with a fun routing that heads into the forest from the clubhouse before ultimately swooping down to the shores of Lake Como, where the 17th is one of America’s most picturesque inland par 5s. In between, some recent renovations by architect Brandon Johnson have helped address some playability issues, including an opening hole that used to make a rough first impression but is now one of the course’s better par 4s.
Gem of an Arnold Palmer Layout
I’ve been playing the Palmer course since Geneva national it opened. They’ve made a few nice tweaks to it, including taking the creek out of the first fairway and leveling the green a little bit as well as leveling off the second green. I think the course gets better every year I play it. It’s a nice routing and very scenic. Considering it was November 17, the greens were still in very nice shape for the time of year as well the rest of the course.
5.5 hr weekday fall round
Okay so I was super excited to make the trek up to lake Geneva to play golf during fall foliage. I booked 1124. Seeing the available tee times and getting there early to practice, I thought I would be set for the perfect 3.5 hr fall golf retreat. There were 2 lady foursomes (members) that teed off a group behind us. Waited 15 minutes at every tee box.
I attempted to set the stage as well joking with the starter asking about the women’s foursomes and he said they were members, shouldn’t be a problem. Well saw the same ranger 3 times. First time, we were obviously ahead of pace. By hole 6 we were already behind pace. Ranger checked in on pace and told him we were behind. There were about 3-4 times I thought about throwing in the towel, as it interrupted/effected my play.
I would golf elsewhere if you are looking to be up and back to Chicago area in less than 8 hours.
Updated Palmer
Nice changes to the course and in great condition. They did a nice job of keeping the fallen leaves off the course.
Palmer course
The course was in great shape. There was one group in front of us who were kind of slow, but it didn’t really hinder us, but the Ranger sped him up, but it all worked out and we had a great time. Love the course.
Geneva National
Palmer course was phenomenal shape..Live this course ..
Palmer at Geneva National
Recently played the Palmer course at Geneva National. The facility and amenities are great, with the new outdoor bar/eating area and The Dance Floor putting experience. The course is in great shape, but the greens were recently top dressed and the layer of sand sitting on top of the green sometimes make it difficult to get the speed right on puts. The top dressing should work it's way into the greens soon.
Great course missing some basics
Have played two of the three courses here the past few weeks. It is a beautiful course for sure the last few holes are stunning. Biggest thing the course lacks is ball cleaners and the course doesn’t wrap around by the clubhouse so you have no chance at refreshments at the turn.
A great day
Was excited to see the new updates to the greens on holes 1 and 2. The changes made on the holes are excellent. The course overall is in great condition and our 4some played 18 holes in 4:10 mins. For the price its is a great deal. We have below average course in the Milwaukee area (New Berlin HIlls) charging $65 to play on a weekend. This a great deal!
Refreshed Palmer
Excellent updates on multiple holes, making them more fair and/or playable. Expanded tee boxes a plus. Course in good condition considering the amount of play and pace of play fair.
Nice Course Improvements
The improvements they made to several holes really improve the playability of those holes. Solid course, good condition considering the amount of play, overall great experience. I highly recommend!
