El Dorado Park Golf Club

It is my first time to play here at El Dorado Park Golf Course. The course condition is very good and well maitained even after the recent raining in Long Beach area. Although the course layout is pretty straight but it is still quite challenge with those deep bunkers around the green. One thing I have to mention is that the green is very challenge to put. Not because the small size of green, but also the fast speed and difficalt pin position.

Overall, I have very much enjoyed the golf game and people over there are very friendly too.

Course always is in fantastic shape. Never a delay of tee off time. Played in 4 1/2 hours which is definitely acceptable. Unfortunately we were behind a group that overestimated their ability and also took too long on the greens. Nothing the course can do about wannabe PGA tour pros.

Hi Mark‘s at all levels, but one. The traps which are plenty and unfortunately I found quite a few, were very hard lacking feel or sand and thus difficult to manage. Too many bogeys!

Played El Dorado for the first time in a year or so and it did not disappoint. The greens were nice and fast, but not too fast. The tree lined fairways were in great condition, along with the rest of the course, which was plush and green. I played on a Tuesday probably explained the nice pace, finishing in less that 4 1/2 hours. Definitely will try to get back to this LBC gem of a golf course more often.

Arrive and am told that they are behind 15 min. That was a lie, we didn’t tee off until 30 minutes after our tee time. When we arrived we were told cart path only bc of the muddy conditions. Except there were people driving all over the course and no marshals or anything. The entire course was mud. Fairway was basically one big swamp. Multiple times I lost the ball in the middle of the fairway in the mud. The grass hadn’t been cut in I don’t know how long. The last time it rained was 5 days ago, is it ever going to dry? We got through 13 holes in 4 and 1/2 hours. No apologies or refunds from the pro shop. They just said we got backed up and the course is drying still. Trash.

Love this place. Plays wet on the back 9 for sure. Great course layouts. Fun times

The course conditions were disappointing. The tee boxes were in very poor shape, and while the greens were playable at times, several holes had issues—on a couple, the ball wouldn’t even settle properly in the cup due to the way they were cut at an angle. One bunker in particular was especially frustrating: I hit a shot that struck hidden rocks beneath the sand and the bunker itself hadn’t been properly dragged.

For the price it’s good course wise, it’s a shame to see how far this course has fallen from what it used to be. We played the day before Thanksgiving, and there were no amenities available beyond the clubhouse—no cart service, no extras. It simply wasn’t the same experience I remember from years past. At this point, I’d choose Sky Links or Lakewood over this course, given how poor the conditions were during our round.
