A Day at El Dorado
Beautiful day at the golf course! Not a long wait (could only check in 10 minutes before tee time - expected), we only delayed a bit on the first hole but that was expected.
After that, pace went smoothly. Course overall is in great shape, and I liked that some of the concrete pathways had been repaired since the last time I was here. Greens in great shape. I will miss some of the larger eucalyptus that fell down and are no longer there, changed some of the approaches to a couple of holes (they're no longer in the way!).
Solid course
Kept in good shape, some rough spots that need some love but overall a good course.
El Dorado Park
Pleasant experience. My only concern is that they let fivesomes out. I didn't see it this round, but that usually has a bad effect on pace of play.
Course Charged me for Cart though was never initially mentioned
I booked a $50 hot deal on Golf now and though it was pretty good rate until I reached there and found out that the normal rate is $29 with Cart.
Apparently reaching the course found out that I will be charged for Cart separately $15. I told them I have already paid $50 on Golfnow as hotdeal which is a higher price that what you guys are charging anyways.
They kept insisting that I need to talk to Golfnow and get it refunded. I ended up paying $65 for a $29 round.
As a customer I am not happy even though the course was in decent shape.
Either Golfnow or the Course needs to get their act together as this is BS. Honestly I will probably never go to that course again even though I liked playing there.
Golf
They need to get a range cart with a cage. Second time trying to hit range before a round and wasting money on golf balls because we have to wait 15 minutes for them to pick up balls. The greens need to be rolled. They are getting too soft. The rest of the course is in good shape. foursomes is the way to go. It speeds up the rounds. Played about 4.5 hours compared to 5+ with 5 people.
Good, but still shows why it is a Muni
This is one of my favorite courses in the area. I find the small greens coupled with challenging tee shots to be fun and makes you think how you play straight holes and those with bends. Greens were slow, decent conditions. Fairways nice. Rough had lots of blown over trees that have been laying for weeks and signs of homeless camping in them. I feel the course could be kept in better condition rather than just hitting it with a mower. Bunkers and tee boxes are marginal at best. I'll be back, but not in a hurry.
Solid Layout, Poor Value
First time playing El Dorado and we teed off @ 6am on a Saturday. Pace of play was great (<4hrs with three players) and the layout/greens were solid. But for $71 with cart, I was hoping for better overall conditions than what I can get for $50 playing an LA City muni track. Bring the greens fees down or improve the course conditions, especially in the fairway/first cut of rough and the bunkers.
Course Trees have been cut back
While the course is flat, it posed a real challenge with the trees being untrimmed for so many years. Now, all of that has changed. The course was in great condition and I can't wait to play it again.
