Disappointing

Good points:- good facilities and very clean.

Greens in good condition

Bad points:- fairway was more like rough grass hadn’t been cut and in some areas was about 2 inch long.

Not enough signage to where next hole

No guide poles on fairway at blind holes so didn’t really know where to play shot to

No grass on parts of fairway where drainage has been added

Overall this could be a really good challenging course but fell it needs a little more care taken to it especially with cutting the fairways properly

Tough

Fantastic course and very tough. Having played most around Glasgow you won't find a better test than here. Beautiful challenging test. Thoroughly recommend.

Accuracy off the tee Essential

Had a really enjoyable game using the Scottish Golf Show vouchers. A beautiful day on a lovely layout. This is a very tight course where fairways are generally tree lined with not much room for error off the tee. Some lovely par 3's with the downhill 6th and 11th stand-outs. Course opens up a bit from the 12th or 13th so less pressure on tee shots. Greens were a bit slower than we'd have expected but they did run true. Would recommend unless you are a wayward driver

Some great holes

heard about Douglaston being a challenging course but with the right club off the tee its not too challenging. greens were true and very fast.

you felt you were the only one on the course because of the trees. pace of play was brilliant and with the marshall out patrolling this, we got round in under 4 hours.

we still managed to get something to eat afterwards because the kitchen was open till 8.30pm which is rare at most golf clubs, especially mine.

would recommend this course to anyone.

Good but needs some TLC

The course is quite challenging with a few narrow fairways and water hazards . The course seems to have been neglected over the years and isn’t quite in tip top condition but it looks like it’s getting there . The signage between holes is very poor and it’s easy to get confused as to where to go next . It’s a nice course but we won’t rush back

Good walk Around

weather was mixed but did not effect the course. Challenging as normal, but the green keepers have removed a lot of high Grasses and made in certain parts speed of play quicker. Greens where really good. Noticed that the Pro shop had been reopened and that buggies are available to hire. had my lunch as well, which were reasonably priced. A good day out

Great day

Although the weather was very mixed, the playing conditions where great. it looks like the Green team have worked on removing a lot of the tall Grass and made speed of play better. Still a tight course on certain holes but a great challenge. The Burger for lunch in the main Club was reasonably priced. The new Pro shop and team had great knowledge and tips for the course. Buggies also available now

Wet but a great day out

As expected the weather had turned the ground very wet, however I was able to still manage around the course using the mats as advised. The course has weathered the snow reall;y well, and if you don't mind the underfooting, is a really good day out. Looking good for the better weather days and will be back

Boggy Course

Best thing about this course was the greens however everything else was terrible. The layout the condition and the gap between tee to green is ridiculous.

Worst course I've played in Dumbartonshire.

Dougalston

The course was in very poor condition bunkers scarce of sand not been raked poor fairways and about half of the greens were in poor condition I think they are paying more attention to the health club than the upkeep of the golf course

Punishing so beware

Whilst the old original course was tough and challenging with lots of quite narrow fairways where you needed to be reasonably straight the new layout has now become ridiculously tight with zero room for error on some holes.

If you can remember the old 8th hole, now the 15th I think, then this is now one of the wider and more forgiving fairways to hit.

On the plus side the bunkers were lovely with good sand and a pleasure to play out of

Layout has changed but still a tight challenge

Slightly wet underfoot but greens and tees were perfect. Used to be a member back in the early nineties and three holes have changed however it is still a challenging course that requires you to be straight off the tee.

Would definitely return.

Golf Round

Used to play this course often many years ago, course is very challenging although not as challenging as it used to be. Course is in good condition but the drainage wasn't great on certain holes and seemed to have a lot of surface water. Would return when there is less rain, lack of trolleys was a pain.

Great challenge

Love this course, i would rate as one of the hardest in Glasgow because you need to be straight off the tee on most of the holes as there is no give either side of the fairways. Wont find many courses as good as this for the money either. Will be back again
