A great mix of holes

Varied holes in length, shape and land features makes for a fun challenging round.

Greens are better than the last time I'd played, a couple are a bit bobbly. Fairways in good order.

Unplayable greens

Great course ruined by unplayable greens. The greens have been spiked ( 15 mm holes ) and sanded making them unplayable. This has ruined what could have been a good scorecard .

Great course in an awful state

This course has such potential but is in awful condition. Greens were a mess and it was hard to tell rough from fairway. Needs more signage to direct new players. Maybe the condition will improve over the summer. Been a few times but unlikely to be back now.

Quite challenging

As a beginner golfer this course was quite difficult. A lot of water hazards and fairly narrow fairways surrounded by trees made it challenging to really GO for your shots. Good course though. Would play again.

This course is a great challenge for novice/amateur golfers

Played this course on a lovely day had read/heard bad things about it being wet and sludgey! Played on a warm sunny day and the course was lovely, very challenging! Looking forward to playing again as now know the hole layouts.

Really enjoyed playing here

Great course - It is really well kept and in a lovely location. It was really cool to see wildlife whilst playing too!

the only complaint I'd have is the opening 9 holes is a fair trek to get around and very hilly. The back 9 is much more enjoyable.

Bargain

Dougalston is an unbelievable bargain of a course. I've paid more for nine holes. The course itself is surrounded by woodland with some interesting water hazards. Bring extra balls. The pro shop couldn't have been helpful. It was a little wet underfoot when we played pre-season but the greens stood up well to the soggy weather.

Very Good Challenging Course

Unfortunately we chose to play this course not long after a fairly constant period of rain. On first hole heavens opened with rain & hail however this did stop allowing us to continue with round which we both enjoyed. Due to past weather the course was a bit wet underfoot(I don't think any other course would be any different). This course is a bit hilly with a good variety of holes and test for any golfer with some accurate shots of the tee required. The par threes were great fun especially either the ninth or eleventh(not sure which but surely the course's signature hole requiring a good straight shot up the seep hill(great fun). This is a course that needs to be played a few times to make the best of it though and we will definitely be back. The only problem we had was 'idiot dog-walkers' walking across fairways just before driving off(I don't blame the course for this though as these fools should consider their own safety). If you like a really good challenge this is the course for you. I guarantee you will want to go back.

Great challenge

Great course to play, unfortunately due to rubbish weather and coming into winter, had to tee off from mats some of which where moved some distance from original tee boxes.

Some greens where in a bit of a mess due to being hollow-cored, however most where in good condition considering the time of year.

Lovely layout and will definitely be back in the summer, sure it’ll be a different challenge then, paid £27 each for the round, personally would say £20 through winter would be more reasonable but still thoroughly enjoyable day if you play well and hit the ball well could score really well

Dougalston

The course in general was good for this time of year, the greens were okay although could have done with a swipe to take the moisture off. Always a test playing here. but enjoyable

Tricky course

Great course tricky and challenging well sign posted! as some holes can be hard to find if you've never played it before green's and fairways kept immaculate . Fair play to green keeping staff as they obviously work hard to keep course well maintained throughout the seasons.
