Harder than it looks

First 2 holes gently introduce you to this course. Layout is great but some challenging holes in particular when driving off from the tee due to surrounding trees. Well worth a visit. Unfortunately, a bit slow on the day as 5 kids grouped together so took a while to get past them.

Strange One

The Course is well worth playing guessing during the week. Great holes for everyone. Some nasty but fun if you accept them. You'll need a scouting round.

Played last weekend but the conditions weren't great after heavy rain, quit on 13th. Yesterday was a GLORIOUS day for golf, unfortunately they overloaded the course with everyone and anyone. Kids, neds, hackers... quit on 12th due to a four ball who really shouldn't play golf , no etiquette at all. We gave them their clubs left behind several times with no offer of letting us a 2 play through.

Tee boxes not inviting grass overgrown. Fairways overgrown hard to distinguish from second cut if any.

For the price ok. But I wont be back on a sunny Saturday. Shame because I like the course.

It’s a shame

This is one of the best laid out and challenging courses in the west of Scotland, always has been. Alas it has virtually zero drainage on the fairways and when it rains, as it does frequently the course is extremely heavy underfoot for days afterwards. We played on the Wednesday and the heavy rain from the previous weekend made the trek hard work. Every ball needed to be moved for preferred lies. The course really shouldn’t have been open, but it was. The greens are always good and when cut close are really terrific, you just need to wade through puddles and mud to get there. Facilities off the course are really basic.

Value for money

Good course. Greens were good considering the rain from the previous day. Course very wet underfoot but expected. Tees needed cut but still value for money.

Eventually rained off

Greeted by the Pro Alan, who was very welcoming and helpful.

Teed off pretty much on time, if not a couple of minutes early.

Course was great, considering the rain we had on and off in the days leading up to it. Directions around the course were pretty clear, thoroughly enjoying ourselves until the heavens opened.

We played through until it got to a point where the course was just saturated.

Played first 9 and the 18th, all would have been perfect if not for the torrential rain.

Was advised by Alan to phone up and give our details to finish the back 9.

So hoping to do that very soon.

Highly recommend course, pricing, staff and facilities all great. Will definitely visit again.

A great mix of holes

Varied holes in length, shape and land features makes for a fun challenging round.

Greens are better than the last time I'd played, a couple are a bit bobbly. Fairways in good order.

Unplayable greens

Great course ruined by unplayable greens. The greens have been spiked ( 15 mm holes ) and sanded making them unplayable. This has ruined what could have been a good scorecard .

Great course in an awful state

This course has such potential but is in awful condition. Greens were a mess and it was hard to tell rough from fairway. Needs more signage to direct new players. Maybe the condition will improve over the summer. Been a few times but unlikely to be back now.

Quite challenging

As a beginner golfer this course was quite difficult. A lot of water hazards and fairly narrow fairways surrounded by trees made it challenging to really GO for your shots. Good course though. Would play again.

This course is a great challenge for novice/amateur golfers

Played this course on a lovely day had read/heard bad things about it being wet and sludgey! Played on a warm sunny day and the course was lovely, very challenging! Looking forward to playing again as now know the hole layouts.

Really enjoyed playing here

Great course - It is really well kept and in a lovely location. It was really cool to see wildlife whilst playing too!

the only complaint I'd have is the opening 9 holes is a fair trek to get around and very hilly. The back 9 is much more enjoyable.
