The Golf Club at North Hampton
About
The Golf Club at North Hampton offers a traditional Scottish links-style course right in northeast Florida. Designed by Arnold Palmer, the layout meanders through dramatic elevation changes of over 40 feet and ten spring-fed lakes lined with coquina boulders. Sprawled across rolling hills and wild grasses, the golf course is sculpted from beautiful Florida woodlands, offering a round that is as scenic as it is challenging. The Golf Club at North Hampton's hard-to-read greens are massive and move very quickly. There are also tight fairways, many of which feature blind approaches. To make it even trickier, strong winds often sweep through the course, some even reaching a speed of 30 miles an hour.

Hardest Course in the area.
i play this course regularly because is very challenging. You should have your A or B game.
If you like a challenge, this is the course in this area.
This time greens were a little slow but usually are very fast. I recommend this course.
Challenging course with undulating greens
Very picturesque, lots of water, very fast greens.
Course is in HORRIBLE SHAPE
So I decided to take the long ride out to this course as i have read the reviews and heard from other people that this course is a hidden gem. This is also one of the sites holding a us open regional and as I am getting ready for that I figured some time on this course would be a good idea as I had never played it before. Got to the course and it looked like a interesting layout. Headed to the range and warmed up- range was ok nothing exciting but did the job. Hit a few putts on the practice green and realized that I should of stayed at my home course instead of driving all the way up here. It was bumpy slow and extremely shaggy. I was kind of hoping that there practice green was just in rough shape as my home course is really bad too. Got to the first tee box and it was slow. REALLY but I took it as a chance to learn the good/dead areas of were to hit the tee shot and so forth. Tee boxes were average for what I have played, they were flat too. Got to the fairway and it was dried out dormant still, lots of divots not sanded. Then hit my approach shot into the green. This is were I almost just walked off the course. The greens are worse then the putting green. They are so bad I didn't hit a single putt. I used wedge to putt with. They were shaggy bumpy slow and had limited greens in areas. I was in shock that everybody said this course was in amazing shape. Needless to say the group infront of me let me play through them on 2. I caught a 4 some playing lesson with the pro that wouldn't let me get thru them so at the 6th hole thor guard went off and I got to leave with a 9 hole refund. Anybody want it? You guys have a lot of work to do for your qualifier in less then a month.
Great for a change of pace
I'm a member at Marsh Landing CC in Ponte Vedra Beach and I love taking a day trip to North Hampton for a change of pace. The course has soemthing for everyone - it's similar to a links course, has rolling terrain and elevations that are similar to northern courses, and some areas are similar to the typical Florida courses. I put together a traveling foursome every other month.
Great value
Got a great rate through GolfNow so it was like play for free. Course was pretty difficult, need to make tee selection carefully.
tough course
very excellent course would have to play multiple times to learn the course . most difficult course I have ever played
affordable golf
My wife and I played North Hampton yesterday and enjoyed the design. The condition was what I expected from a public course with very little grass on the fairways and the greens running pretty slow. I am sure that once spring and summer arrive that the conditions will improve. The nice thing was it was easy to get a tee time and the staff was very friendly.
Entertaining
This course is nice. Takes a while to figure out approach shots, the greens are large and the course needs a few weeks for the grasses to get green but don't let this stop you. It's a nice playing course
Fast greens
The fast greens made the course challenging, but the course was in great condition with a lot of interesting holes.
Great Deal
Hats off to this course! The greens were fantastic, sand was very playable and the fairways were in nice condition. Tee boxes were nothing too great, but after playing King/Bear, Slammer/Squire, South Hampton, and OakMarsh this was THE BEST. Other courses had thin sand that was too water logged below a 1/2in. Great layout with some interesting hole designs and maintenance crews were about tending to the condition of the course throughout. Wished we played here instead of WGV
Great Course
One of the best courses in the Jax area. Absolute Gem.
Great course
Course was in excellent condition for season. A challenging and interesting layout that is also fair. An enjoyable day of golf.
greens always quick and true
Great shape. Tough test but fair test of golf. Always in good shape
Toughest Greens ever played
Shot 90 with a 6 handicap, My partner shot 84 with a 2 handicap.
Not for the faint of heart!
Many fairways too tight to suit the average player's game. Bunkers well positioned, and swales in the green areas made play more difficult. Beautiful layout but not recommended for a walker.
Tough but fair
Beautiful Arnold Palmer designed course. Lots of water, tough but fair. Rolling fairways that remind you of a links course. Some fairways narrow, but adequate landing areas. Fast modulating greens. Not many flat spots. Well maintained course and manicured greens. Pace of play was excellent. Had a very good time and highly recommend the course.
Challenging but Fair Course
I've played this course 8 or 9 times over the past 2 years and always enjoy it. Nice variety of holes with varying site lines, carries, etc. Greens are challenging. The GPS in the carts is very helpful given all of the bunkers, water, changes in topography, etc. Great value.

You hit the nail on the head! N. Hampton is the best course, in my book, in the Jacksonville area. Its usually in good shape (fast greens) and the layout IS a challenge. Glad you got to play it, and had a good experience.
