The Golf Club at North Hampton
About
The Golf Club at North Hampton offers a traditional Scottish links-style course right in northeast Florida. Designed by Arnold Palmer, the layout meanders through dramatic elevation changes of over 40 feet and ten spring-fed lakes lined with coquina boulders. Sprawled across rolling hills and wild grasses, the golf course is sculpted from beautiful Florida woodlands, offering a round that is as scenic as it is challenging. The Golf Club at North Hampton's hard-to-read greens are massive and move very quickly. There are also tight fairways, many of which feature blind approaches. To make it even trickier, strong winds often sweep through the course, some even reaching a speed of 30 miles an hour.

Seven Iron Photo submitted by Doug3188839 on 09/25/2012
Awesome course!
The course was in great condition tee to green. I played it from the tips which measures just over 7000 yards, but it wasn't the distance that caused me trouble it was the overall tightness of the course. Playing it from a forward tee would result in a lot of irons and 3 wood off the tee though. If I'm ever back in the area, I will definitely play it again!
EXCELLENT COURSE AND VALUE
North Hampton is both reasonably priced and a great course. One of the best secrets in the Jacksonville area. Play this course and you will agree!
awesome
The only complaint I have about this course is the green side bunkers. There is very little sand mostly gravel and rocks. Other than that excellent course.
This coourse has challenging features.
Great course, great price. I will return for another showing. Love the course handouts.
Great course
Fun challenging course. Nothing really bad to say about te course.
Great shape - good value.
For the most part, the tee boxes and fairways were pristine. Some of the greens had a few dead spots, but nothing that made them unplayable. One of the greens had been damaged a couple of weeks ago by a vandal driving a vehicle on it at night. I was very impressed with the repairs.
Challenging from the blues. Great pace of play
Overall a good course. Some of the bunkers need work and more sand. Many of the blue tee boxes only had one marker. Will most likely play from black tees next time.
outstanding condition
North Hampton was always a great place to play, but it is even better now and just keeps on getting better and better. All their staff are very excited about it's condition and improvements and well worth the reasonable price
Great condition
This course is well maintained, greens are smooth and quick.
Decent layout; fairways can be found to have a good deal of slope.
The course was in decent shape. Greens were hard, left few pitch marks. Ball tended to roll a long way after hitting the green, even with lofted wedges. Several holes have sloping fairways. On #11, I hit the left center of the fairway, and my ball bounded left into the heavy brush. If you get off the fairway, it is difficult to find your ball with many areas allowed to grow rough in their natural states - high growth, thick bushes/growth (2-3 feet tall). Greens were in good shape, just hard surfaces. Looks like it is about time to separate.
Awesome!
Great course, conditions could not be better. Challenging, used every club in my bag. Only scored 7 over my average. Monday is the day to play, had the course to our selves. Will definitely be back.
very challenging golf course
I play N. Hampton semi regularly and this time it was in the best shape I've ever seen it. They have "softened" up the layout somewhat, but it is still a top notch challenge. My favorite course in the Jacksonville area, and that includes TPC!
Definitely a ball striker's course
Well worth the drive! Lively layout and design. Enjoyed the risk reward par 4's.
This is a Links style course with challenges on every hole!
I have been playing this course for about 7 years now and it is currently in the best condition I have ever seen it! It is very challenging to all skill levels, greens have a good bit of undulation to them and keeping your ball below the hole is a must to score well. I enjoyed my recent experience very much and look forward to playing the course again real soon!!!
Each hole is unique
This is one of our favorite layouts in NE Florida. There is such a great variety in the golf course and you really need to think your way around it. Greens are typical for a "Palmer" design in that if you think they hole might be a little on the easy side, the contours of the green will quickly change your mind. The only downside in our day was a rather long lightning warning which went off as we were completing our first hole. When we received the all clear there were people already out on the course and there was confusion about where everyone would resume play. We had a small disagreement with another group on the course. A ranger would have been helpful at this point.
Excellent course with nice challenges
This is a highly recommended course. Got to Jacksonville about seven months ago and it's quickly become my home track.
Look forward to getting family and friends down to see if they can home there skills on this nice but challenging course.
Course in excellent condition.
Course in good condition except for bunkers that had not drained well. Challenging course !!; not for beginners. I did not care for the drive through bunkers/waste bunkers and unpaved cartparths. Many rough transitions from the small paved areas back to unpaved on the cartpath. Overall a great value.
Awesome Course
The course was in perfect shape. We had a foursome that finished 18 holes in about 4 1/4 hrs. It's a long and wide open course.
Awesome
A great challenging course. The greens were fast, but dry. Hopefully they could be a bit softer when thre is a bit more rain. I would play this course anytime i am in the area
Challenging layout with large rolling difficult greens
Very challenging course in excellent condition. Drastic elevation changes for a Florida course with huge difficult greens. My only complaint was we only saw the beverage cart twice in 18 holes.
