The Golf Club at North Hampton
About
The Golf Club at North Hampton offers a traditional Scottish links-style course right in northeast Florida. Designed by Arnold Palmer, the layout meanders through dramatic elevation changes of over 40 feet and ten spring-fed lakes lined with coquina boulders. Sprawled across rolling hills and wild grasses, the golf course is sculpted from beautiful Florida woodlands, offering a round that is as scenic as it is challenging. The Golf Club at North Hampton's hard-to-read greens are massive and move very quickly. There are also tight fairways, many of which feature blind approaches. To make it even trickier, strong winds often sweep through the course, some even reaching a speed of 30 miles an hour.

Challenges your accuracy and course management skills
Beautiful and challenging. There are no easy shots here. The course is designed with numerous well positioned water hazards and bunkers which require a course strategy beyond simply driving for distance for a close approach shot. Carts have awesome GPS mapping to help you do this. Conditions in the fairways and greens are excellent rewarding you for accuracy. Inaccuracy is also penalized as balls landing along the perimeters of the green and fairways will usually run off. The greens are faster than the average course so practicing your putting before teeing off is a must. There's a great bar in the clubhouse to celebrate at the end of the round.
You will hae a great experience!
We played for $40 per player. Absolute great golf course and in immaculate condtion. Huge/fast greens, risk/reward, great pace of play and a esthetically beautiful. This is the best deal in golf in the area that I've found having been here for 1 year . Wow. You will love it. Hard to justify paying $160 at the Dye Valley when I can play this one 4 times for $160 ! Don't miss out. What a gem. The course can be as challenging as you want it to be with the multiple sets of tees. Carts have state of the art GPS. I would write more but I'm out of space !!! Loved it !
Marvelous and tough
A wonderful course layout in combination with extremely well maintained tees, fairways and greens plus lovely weather, not counting the vast bunkers, endless water hazards and especially my lousy game - what else do you need for a perfect day?
A shot makers layout.
The course was in very good condition and it offered a challenging, but fair test. The course has a lot of character and was fun to play even in a brisk wind.
A fantastic golf
An exceptionnal golf. Wide areas, a lot of challenge and an exceptionnal environnement.
Despite the cool weather.....
This spring's cool weather has not been friendly to the Bermuda fairways, but despite this, the course was in okay shape. No complaints about the condition of the greens. Was an enjoyable round. Would like to play it again after the fairways are full.
Good Course
The GPS was a tremendous help as this course requires considerable "local knowledge." Good price for a good course. Staff helpful and practice facilities excellent. One of those you need to putt some before hitting the greens.
Great layout
Fun round. For my level of play, the course is fair. Plenty of trouble but if you manage your game, you can score pretty well. Fantastic staff and amenities.
Nice layout that needs maintenance
Friendly staff, nice course with ample amount of tee boxes to choose from. Tough course with some blind shots. Nice GPS system. But the tee boxes and bunkers were atrocious. Fairways slightly better. Course needs serious attention.
Best course I've played in Florida so far
Greens fast (10-11 on Stimp) immaculate, great layout - bunkers fair, overall a great experience - NOT easy - but fair - would recommend this course anytime to anyone.
Even the food after was great.
Great course...really fast greens!
The course was in really good shape with a friendly staff. The only recommendation I would have is to slow the greens down just a bit. They did putt true but it took over half the round to get used to the speed. It was an overall great day and great round of golf and we will be back on our next visit!
Great Course
This was the first time I have played since they made the changes and soften the course up. I likes it the course still has alot of teeth but doesn't abuse you if you are a little off. I played it before and felt wore out at the end of the round. This time even though I was playing my best I still had a lot of fun. The course is in good shape for coming out of winter the greens are fantastic
good value and challenging
Course is challenging and the greens are lightning fast. The cart are in great condition and the new GPS is outstanding. Lots of traps and water.
It is a true links , wild nature , very challenging
With windy conditions , difficult to play its index
The course is a true links ( similar to irish courses )
Greens are often up the hill
solid course, great layout
Had the misfortune of playing this course in a blustery three club wind. It is a great and scenic layout with challenges at every hole. This course isn't for beginners but passengers will still enjoy the ride around the track.
Nice Palmer layout, solid challenge
The course has a solid challenge in the layout. There are more than a few tricky things going on here. Blind shots with trouble, visual tricks on the tee, hidden slopes and hazards. What else would you expect from " The King" There were a number of good views on the course. I do have a couple of problems the course though. First, the greens are not in the best shape, they have numerous marks, bumps, etc that need to be fixed. Second, if you are going to hype your descriptions of the course. You should overseed the fairways or at least keep them watered in the winter months. The fairways were very dry and hard. They looked and played more like a muni course. I'm sure they are really nice in the spring and all, but I'm sure Arnie would not approve of your winter conditions. i gave the course 4 stars for the layout and the knowledge that better conditions will appeal in the spring. As for winter, you can definitely take a star off that.
Great Layout but not in great shape, needs some love.
Really well laid out and if the course was in better condition it would have been a great experience. not sure if this was time of yesr, late Feb, or cheaping out on MTC cost.
If playing for the first time, be aware of hidden hazards on shorter holes unless you don't mind down hill lies, hitting out of divots, hitting out a hazard or taking a drop :)
Challenging
Course was in fantastic shape! Firm, receptive, lighting-quick greens were a challenge given the 20+ mph winds we dealt with. Winter has had a very limited impact on the course. Can't wait to go back.
North Hampton - Great Layout
Played this course on our way to Orlando. Palmer design was typical. A few of the landing areas off the tee we blind but did not run into too many issues. Great mixture of holes short & long. Greens were a bit tricky to read but rolled smooth. A first rate course and would recommend anyone playing.
Very scenic and very fast greens
Played with 2 friends on a Sunday. Teed off at 12:20 right on time. Pace of play was a little slow. It took 5 hours to get the round in. Making up for the pace of play was the beauty of the course and the excellent conditions!
We had a great time and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Jacksonville.
The course emailed my friends a special and we got to play for $32 including tax. Great deal for such a sweet course.
The greens were very fast and there was a lot of sand making this a very challenging 18 holes!
