Great course, but somewhat slow pace
It's always frustrating having to hit the ball then wait. Hit the ball then wait constantly. Especially when the foursome 2 groups ahead of you have no one in front of them for most of the round. And they are taking their sweet old time, completely oblivious to the groups behind them. No sense of urgency to keep up with the group ahead of them. What made my round even more disappointing was that there is a marshal/ambassador on the course who did not appear to be doing their job to move things along. And aren't they supposed to go backwards (from hole 18, to 17 to 16 etc.) to make note of the pace of play? The marshal just hung out and I did not see him make any effort to ensure groups are at least trying to keep up.
Why have a marshal that does not actually do their job?
Long Beach golf
I love and recommend all three LB golf courses all the time.
One of the best public courses in Southern California
Usually amazing pace, course conditions are usually very good. Always recommend using a colored ball on the first tee if it goes left towards the driving range. Easy to get food and drink before your round or at the turn. Fair price as long as it’s fully recovered. Like many other courses in the area they will charge full rate when the course hasn’t fully healed from maintenance.
Bumpy greens
For a municipal course, it's in pretty decent shape. I wish the tee boxes were a little more flat as some were a bit uneven and hard to get a good balance. The greens were a bit bumpy ...not sure when they aerated but didn't see much signs of it being recently aerated. Overall it's a nice course and I would play it again.
Another banner day at rec park
Greens good and almost recovered completely from punching.
Fairways and tees in great shape
Love this course.
