Skylinks # 1
The staff is very friendly and accommodating, this is a jewel of a course, I play it when ever possible, the course is in great shape, fairways are cut nice and the greens are in great shape, if given the chance, give it a try, you won’t be disappointed..
POP is an issue, otherwise good course
Toughest (and best) greens for all of the Long Beach courses, definitely.
Tee boxes were great: obvious cut, tee's went in well, etc.
POP was an issue (even at 6:44AM tee time), marshal's definitely need to help move along groups more often.
Greens
For once the pace of play was great. After the first hole I knew why. They plugged the greens. Holes and sand all over the place. You should be told in advance and not have to pay $78 to play there when the greens are that way. Will not golf there again for a few months
Nice course.
We did play it on a rainy windy day, so it was a challenge already. Nice long course with many sand traps and water hazards. Will play this course again but will play on a sunny day.
SLow slow slow
3.5 hours to get through the front. Quit after nine.
Good in wet conditions
When Skylinks was booked, rain wasn't in the forecast for an early AM round. Once I got there, a bit of misting that turned into drizzle for the front nine. Overall, Skylinks held up well with very few muddy spots.
Great course
Course was a bit wet from the rain we recently had but it drained well and dry for the most part. Greens read true and are well kept. Amenities could use some upgrades but staff is nice. We ran into a slow 5-some on the course but we just played around them. The last few holes were slow. I’m sure this course is packed usually but we lucked out due to the rain
Fun, forgiving course!
The course layout is a lot of fun for average golfers. Other than fairway bunkers, theres not too much trouble on the course. Course length is shorter than the yardage because the fairways roll out well and the fringes around the greens are cut short. Great round for the money!
Staff in the Pro Shop and at the 1st tee were outstanding.
I showed up with my son to play and they checked our reservation, got us out to the cart, sent us to the first tee and we were able to get the quick lunch special of a hot dog drink and chips. Great afternoon playing. Back nine was wide open.
Nice track but......
Decent course and nice greens. Staff is friendly. But $78.00 is too much to charge IF you allow 5 someday. If you act like a muni then charge like a muni.
Great course condition but extremely slow play
Course in ideal condition and greens are quick but pure! Only thing about SkyLinks green fees are extremely high for weekday and weekend play. $78 per round unless you’re lucky enough to get a “Great Deal” from Golf Now! Also pace of play could be improved if there were Marshalls patrolling the course.
Excellent course layout with mediocre greens
I really like the layout of this course - there are short par fours and long par fours; the greens are quite challenging; and there are a number of doglegs. The greens are not in great shape, but considering the amount of play they are acceptable; the same is true of the fairways many of which have large patches of very tight lies. It's a bit more expensive than the other local courses, but I believe it's worth it.
Great fun local course
I had a great 2 round of golf today, pace was fairly good in the morning, however it gets crowded in the afternoon hour when I played 2nd round. Staff were busy but very friendly. This is the best local course and it is my go to place for a round of golf.
Way to go "Skylink"!!!
