Chardonnay Golf Club
About
Sitting at the gateway to the renowned Napa Valley wine district, Chardonnay Golf Club meanders through acres of lush Chardonnay and Merlot vineyards dotted with sparkling lakes and wandering creeks. Native flora and fauna cover the golf course, which also provides a home for an abundance of wildlife including hawks, foxes, bobcats, and even the occasional golden eagle. Besides the spectacular setting, the layout provides one of the most challenging rounds in the area. The rolling landscape provides interesting elevation changes and there are plenty of mature trees coming into play. Several holes also feature water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. Chardonnay Golf Club's greens are lightning fast and the course plays long. One of the most memorable holes, both for the scenery and level of difficulty is the par-3 eighth. This hole is framed by stunning views of the Valley and it requires some clever shotmaking skills.

Not nearly as good as it once was
I’ve played this course a lot and it’s really dropped off :( not 1 grain of sand in the bunkers(dirt) tee nieces were all dirt and sand no grass. Range was terrible:( I payed $70 and drove an hour to get there. I weren’t go back
Aging Course
This course is located in a beautiful area of Napa and framed by vineyards of many of the fairways. It’s a great value for the money and offers a good pace for average players, but all of the facilities are aging. I don’t mind playing here with friends but I would not bring a client or business opportunity here.
A fun golf day
We enjoyed the game in this gorgeous day. Love to play again here. We all had fun.
A long day of golf
Due to tournament scheduling before our tee time. We had a long day out there. Anyway, we still had fun. Hope to play again.
you have to do better Chardonnay
This is the course that I usually enjoy. I was so disappointed seeing the course conditions. The weeds were at least 6 feet tall in some areas. I saw a lot of workers working on the vines, but not enough working on the grounds. Hopefully they’ll get together and become what it once was.
Course seemed like a public, unkept course
The car was damaged and they did not have any score cards?!!! What golf course has no score cards?!! They had plenty of pencils, however!!
Tragically neglected!! So sad. Used to be great.
I absolutely love the layout and scenery at Chardonnay !! Unfortunately the fairways are dry, the greens are terrible and there is NO sand in any of the bunkers. Whomever is responsible should be punished and fired.
Greens Still Healing
Played on 4/26- greens still healing, bumpy and dimpled. Pace of play was terrible- 5:15 for the round. There was a 5some out ahead of us. Course a bit shabby, but I love the layout and it's a beautiful course with great views of the Napa Valley.
Great Track gone downhill
This is a wonderful layout and feel, unfortunately the conditions have severly dropped since I started playing this course 8 yrs ago... Fairways aren't cut nor flat, with tons of animal holes and mud mounds everywhere. Tee boxes were all sorts of caddywhompus and overall conditions everywhere were pretty bad... Probably won't be coming back for a while and will be playing Eagle Vines in the meantime which is consistently in good condition. Hot dog here at Chardonnay was also blah and noticeably old/reheated multiple times.
Course is fun but the rough need to clean up
The frustrating things is pace off play so slow, I really hope there's a Marshall to keep things flowing.
The rough need to be trimmed, many times the ball just gently roll off the fairway and me and my wife can't even find the ball. She and I keep staying at the golf ball too make sure where it landed but....
Yes, we both experienced the same thing
Bad shape
The conditions worse I ever seen no grass on tee boxes, greens not airated properly, great layout going to s. T
Too slow
Played 18 holes 6 hours. No marshal to control the pace..cannot find ball if it is in rough next to the fairway.
Canes from Elk Grove was really looking forward to it. Punched greans that were half sand half land mines, untidy tee boxes, slow play, and weed crazy
Just sad what was once a great track has gone so low left after 11th hole
SAVE YOUR MONEY DONT PLAY HERE
Trust me, don’t waste your time or money here. One of wine countries biggest scams. They make so much money at this course and put none of it into the course. I’ve played here countless times but wow how much worse it’s gotten in the last year is remarkable. Today was the cherry on top. Supposedly they had punched the greens 3 weeks ago. It looks like they did it this morning. No discount, nothing in golf now saying they were aerated. Not too mention the already dead fairways (this was in april) uneven tee boxes, and don’t even get me started on the “bunkers” more like cart path. Place is a ripoff and ownership needs to sell this course so it isn’t a waste of great land. 100% worst course in northern california for the money.
Great layout!
Very nice golf course from layout standpoint but—greens were plugged 2 weeks ago and most all holes on the greens did not have sand in them—poor job of sanding.
Rough is very high and very difficult to find a ball just off the fairway.
Traps are in poor condition—hard, wet and puddles in some instances.
I hadn't played Chardonnay in well over 5 years. The last time I played the chorus. It was in terrible shape. I came back to play the course hoping they had improved. The conditions very, very disappointed. Most of the tea boxes wereds everywhere. I do like the layout of Chardonnay as it could be A wonderful course with the right management.
Beautiful Course
A lovely time of the year to play here- everything green and many things in bloom. Course conditions were good- greens were a little slow, but they're aerating this week so not a surprise. Always a pleasure to play this course.
Traps
A little surprised that the traps have not been attended too (Raked)?
