About
Sitting at the gateway to the renowned Napa Valley wine district, Chardonnay Golf Club meanders through acres of lush Chardonnay and Merlot vineyards dotted with sparkling lakes and wandering creeks. Native flora and fauna cover the golf course, which also provides a home for an abundance of wildlife including hawks, foxes, bobcats, and even the occasional golden eagle. Besides the spectacular setting, the layout provides one of the most challenging rounds in the area. The rolling landscape provides interesting elevation changes and there are plenty of mature trees coming into play. Several holes also feature water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. Chardonnay Golf Club's greens are lightning fast and the course plays long. One of the most memorable holes, both for the scenery and level of difficulty is the par-3 eighth. This hole is framed by stunning views of the Valley and it requires some clever shotmaking skills.

Golfer Reviews
Unfriendly staff, delayed tee time and extremely slow play
I was looking at some souvenirs in the tee shop then went to check in; the employee at the counter points to the souvenir markers and asks me "how many did you grab" so he could charge me. I didn't grab any. I felt like he was accusing me of shoplifting since I obviously didn't put any souvenirs on the counter to pay for.
He said our tee time would be delayed a little and he would fit us in. Seems like if we have a tee time, it's ok to be delayed but he shouldn't have to squeeze us in. Apparently, they had a shotgun tournament that was finishing up so he was fitting in reserved tee times between the foursomes in the tournament. This caused angry tournament players who accused us of cutting into their tournament even though we were already delayed 40 minutes from our tee time. Starter also was not consistent in announcing who was on the tee box and second up. At one time, he announced that the group on the tee box (which he previously announced) was an error and they had to step off the tee box to let the tourney group play. The day was a big mess. I had reservations for today but cancelled them.
Great weather but
As always the course was in great condition and the weather was perfect. However, I'd advise not to book a tee time when they have a morning tournament. My tee time was at 1pm and for the first 9 holes we waited on every tee, with a couple of them having 2 or 3 groups also. The back nine played much quicker, since the tournament groups finally finished. Looking forward to visiting again.
The scenic Silverado
Country Club atmosphere, well organized, very polite staff.....No golf course is absolutely perfect, there will always be that slow foursome. Just plan on a 5 hour round, and you'll be fine.
Truly Disappointed Today
Had a great discount for my spouse and I to play today, we even showed up 90 minutes before our tee time to enjoy a meal. Despite the delayed service the food was good, the restaurant seemed very short on staff, but there was only one other couple dining in. Regardless, our tee time was at 4pm, and it was delayed by 15 minutes. Once play started, we were backed up at each hole, with at times there were three groups waiting to tee off. After we played six holes in two hours and twenty minutes we decided to stop playing. By the way, there was no starter or Marshall on the course.
Golfing amongst the vines
Got a golfnow deal for $58 with cart included at 4:12pm on a Saturday afternoon. We ended up being the last group to tee off for the day, so we had the place to ourselves pretty much. Played the front 9 very quickly, but took our time on the back and finished in about 4 hours even.
It was grey, windy, and brisk, so the course played like links style golf for much of it. Lots of flat holes that required us to work with the wind. I had a lot of fun. There are also plenty of holes which play with elevation. Overall a bit on the challenging side.
The greens were quite consistent and a good speed for my taste. Also rather challenging sloped greens made us work for our 2-putts. The course was overall in clean condition.
The staff was friendly and accommodating.
6 hour round!
We tee’d off at 10:00. Finished at 4:00. Marshall tried, but group in front of us kept falling a par five or more behind. So frustrating as they could care less that everyone was backed up behind them. I know it’s the weekend, but 6 hours? I won’t be back.
great twosome
pace okay since we followed a tournament. conditions juist beautiful. golf partner just great. needed to work out minor difficulties with swing but he did it before we finished. just beautiful to see him finish last two holes magnificently with great drives over 250 yards. wish i could afford to play this course more often. just great.
Pace of play
We started at 2:33 pm. After the 3rd hole the pace of play was terrible. There were people walking the course who were in their 70s. SLOW. Also, people playing that had no idea they were holding up players behind them.
I blame this on the fact that we never saw a Marshall on the course. And too many people were allowed on the course at the same time, especially in the afternoon when the price of a tee time was the lowest. I blame the management completely for this. Simply unacceptable. This could be a great golf course, and maybe at one time it was, but not now.
First Time This Year
It's been a while since i've been back to play. The day was warm & windy. The course was in great shape, the only issue was the greens had just been aerated. However, that didn't spoil the day. Always enjoy playing the course since it is excellent shape.
Sanded greens
Wasn’t told the back nine was closed until we got there then the back up on one through nine was incredible don’t play here again
