Chardonnay Golf Club
About
Sitting at the gateway to the renowned Napa Valley wine district, Chardonnay Golf Club meanders through acres of lush Chardonnay and Merlot vineyards dotted with sparkling lakes and wandering creeks. Native flora and fauna cover the golf course, which also provides a home for an abundance of wildlife including hawks, foxes, bobcats, and even the occasional golden eagle. Besides the spectacular setting, the layout provides one of the most challenging rounds in the area. The rolling landscape provides interesting elevation changes and there are plenty of mature trees coming into play. Several holes also feature water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. Chardonnay Golf Club's greens are lightning fast and the course plays long. One of the most memorable holes, both for the scenery and level of difficulty is the par-3 eighth. This hole is framed by stunning views of the Valley and it requires some clever shotmaking skills.

Idiart
fun course, hard walk. Pace of play could have been sharper. Greens very slow. Had a lot of fun.
Exceeded my expectations
I would like to preface this review by saying I’ve been playing golf for the last 25 years. I’ve played dozens and dozens of courses and feel I have a pretty good gauge on what makes a golfing experience enjoyable. We recently hosted a group outing at Chardonnay Golf Course and we had an outstanding experience. From the ease of organizing this outing with Octavio (he was outstanding to work with) and checking in to carts being set up for us with names labeled on each cart.
We had everyone from the single digit handicapper to people who played their very first round of golf on this course that day. Thanks to their kind staff and professional marshal, we were able to introduce the game of golf to people that may have otherwise never played and everyone had a great time. Most people ordered food and were very impressed with the quality. On top of their restaurant being fantastic, they had a food cart on the course on a Tuesday which is amazing in and of itself. The bartender also made great drinks before and after the round.
I was very impressed with the quality of the course. Fairways were thick and plush and greens rolled true. It was a very wonderful experience and something we want to do once or twice a year. There’s no doubt we will be returning to the Chardonnay Golf Club as I don’t think their quality for the value can be matched in the bay area.
Thursday play at Chardonnay.
Overall, a really good day on a good golf course.
Super friendly and helpful staff.
Beautiful, But
Beautiful course with nice panoramas and in very nice condition, greens in good condition and pace of play was speedy, but I would not recommend walking, several steeeeep hills, and the course is fairly long.
Could Be Better
Driving range closed without notice so couldn't warm up properly. Was held up by a young couple learning golf and drinking. Held up again by a foursome because one person in group was allowed to walk when all others were on carts. Beautiful day and course. Will come back again.
Great course
Course was in great shape tee boxes, fairways, and the greens. Typical bunkers either perfect or way over watered also a few pockets of fairways/rough being over watered. Overall best course played since beginning of COVID
Fun course but the greens need work
I like this course a lot but the greens are legitimately sadistic; some even nonsensical. They look nice at first glance but as of today in July they are bumpier than all heck and do not roll true whatsoever. Some of the greens feel like your at a putt putt course because they are ridiculously undulated and whoever sets the Pins is not a lover of the human race. No seriously, either they don’t play golf or get some sort of sick pleasure knowing they will be screwing with peoples heads from the first green to the 18th.
FUN track all in all but could be one of my favorites if the greens rolled true.
Chardonnay
All good except the carts. There are apparently not enough carts to give players a fully charged cart by 11:30am. Our cart was going dead on 1. They brought us another right away. Tough times.
Nice track.
I enjoyed this course. The layout was good as there were a variety of holes meandering through the vineyards which were beautiful. I had trouble on the greens as the pins were placed on top of mounds that made it tricky., ie 11 3 putts. Ouch. I need to play it more to get a feel for the greens.
Great morning at a nice course.
First time this year at one of my favorite course.
This is a nice course. Some challenging holes. Six par threes and six par fives make for a different day of golf when compared to the normal course. I will be a regular when we are in the Napa Valley. My only criticism is that the course is pretty wet in areas early in the morning (I played before 7). The views are pretty cool with vineyards surrounding the fairways. Looking forward to playing during the harvest season.
Chardonnay. July 8th.
A good day on the course.
Slowish pace of play - stuck behind some people who took their putting way too seriously!
The course is in good condition overall, but the fairways are showing signs of drying out - big brown areas.
The course was in great shape except for the sand traps.
