Chardonnay Golf Club
About
Sitting at the gateway to the renowned Napa Valley wine district, Chardonnay Golf Club meanders through acres of lush Chardonnay and Merlot vineyards dotted with sparkling lakes and wandering creeks. Native flora and fauna cover the golf course, which also provides a home for an abundance of wildlife including hawks, foxes, bobcats, and even the occasional golden eagle. Besides the spectacular setting, the layout provides one of the most challenging rounds in the area. The rolling landscape provides interesting elevation changes and there are plenty of mature trees coming into play. Several holes also feature water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. Chardonnay Golf Club's greens are lightning fast and the course plays long. One of the most memorable holes, both for the scenery and level of difficulty is the par-3 eighth. This hole is framed by stunning views of the Valley and it requires some clever shotmaking skills.

Great course, slow play
We didn't finish the round because it was too slow.
Great day in NAPA
Can there be a better location for a golf vacation? Played here with my son who was visiting for Thanksgiving. Course was in great condition. I found the greens to be challenging with lots of contours - all good. Not a lot of people on the course when we played so play was fast. Highly recommend this course.
Chardonnay in Fall '14
great track from tee to green. course is in great shape.
A Sure 90+ pointer in Wine Country!
Had a great time at a wonderful course with green fees at a bargain. Some part of the course are not perfect but about all else is. This course winds through the grapevines with a course layout that will challenge any skill level. Make sure you make time to dine at the club house, the food and service was outstanding! I had played here about 20 years ago, sure glad we came back for a round, GREAT Day!
Chardonnay
Course is in great condition! No signs that drought is affecting the golf course. Great place to play if you're going in or out of Wine Country.
Great Weather, Beautiful Course
The course winds through the grape vinyards showing their beautiful colors, and the course is in great condition.
Wine country delight
Lots of bends in the wide fairways, but the approach to most greens are challenged with bunkers and contours. Greens in pretty good shape.
Took 3 hrs to play nine. Quit after 15 - darkness.
Good times
Nice little sunday at chardonnay with the wife. Paired up with a couple of friendly guys and enjoyed beautiful weather, reasonable pace of play, and excellent course conditions.
Wonderful course with fantastic views
I played this course for the first time and really enjoyed the layout and beautiful views.
Unexpectedlly spectacular
The course was one of the most beautiful I have ever seen and the greens were perfect
wonderful course
My first visit but I made 4 buddies, my life record ^^
Beautiful vineyards
Aside from the basic clubhouse and facilities, the course meanders through beautiful vineyards with many elevated tee boxes.
Greens were in great shape while the fairways had some dirt and muddy spots, although this didn't detract from the enjoyment if my round.
Played as a single and finished 18 holes in 3:15 after passing one foursome.
Great value at $34 on golfnow.
Not the most difficult course since the ruff wasn't thick and only few trees to obstruct your shots.
If your looking for beautiful views of the wine country, this is a must play course.
Back nine
Cart paths are lousy, all broken up and needs repairs.
pace of play was really slow
slow play is the only downfall other than that a great course
Very nice and often challenging course
I've played here a few times, and I've always really enjoyed the experience. This last round took about five hours which was due to some inconsiderate people in front of us rather than anything that could be blamed on the marshal (in fact, he was very friendly!), but still, the very slow pace of play did detract from my round. I've had better luck playing in the afternoons. The course is well-maintained and has some very challenging holes. Staff is friendly and accommodating. I wish the snack bar were open - not sure the menu posted on Hole 9 reflects accurate pricing. All in all, I would definitely recommend this course.
A bit wet
Course would be amazing if it was not so wet, cart paths need some work, damaged from the recent earth quake. Did not see the cart girl until 10:30 but she was very friendly. A member joined me and he was friendly as well. Got an early start so lots of activity with all the greens keepers working on the course some were good and stopped while you putted and others just kept on mowing , a bit loud and annoying. Overall nice day!
Wine country golf
Solid golf course routed through the vineyards. My biggest complaints were slow play(no Marshall to move play along) and the course was very wet. Teed off at 9:30 am. The fairway and greens were soft in many locations.
wine country golf challenge
Chardonnay has transitioned from 2 18 hole tracks to a single 18 hole course and works hard to earn golfers dollars.
the GPS system on the carts does not work. Our cart was fine but the GPS never worked.
The actual course offers varying challenges and many of the 5 par threes require forced carries.
The pars fives offer accuracy challenges and many sand bunkers protect greens. The vineyards provide the greatest contest as they can easily eat stray shots.
Tree lined creeks also line many holes making sight lines tough and requiring shot making.
This course is likely best for intermediate to advanced golfers.
the visual beauty here is its strongest trait.
Golfing in the vineyards
A beautiful challenging course. The greens rolled fast and true. The wind was blowing about 30 to 35 miles per hour and the low overcast finally cleared late afternoon allowing for much warmer conditions. Golfers familiar with the course said the wind could even blow harder when the sun was out and conditions drier. Almost hard to believe. The one negative that was a bit unnerving was the constant compressed air guns detonating randomly in the vineyards to scare away rodents, birds and probably an occasional golfer venturing too far into the vineyards looking for wayward shots. Expect to use every club in the bag. By the way, the scenery in many cases was spectacular with many elevation changes. Bottom line, I had a great time despite the wind and cold.
Course is long and demands long drives
Good challenging course where you need fairway woods for most of your second shots
