Chardonnay Golf Club
About
Sitting at the gateway to the renowned Napa Valley wine district, Chardonnay Golf Club meanders through acres of lush Chardonnay and Merlot vineyards dotted with sparkling lakes and wandering creeks. Native flora and fauna cover the golf course, which also provides a home for an abundance of wildlife including hawks, foxes, bobcats, and even the occasional golden eagle. Besides the spectacular setting, the layout provides one of the most challenging rounds in the area. The rolling landscape provides interesting elevation changes and there are plenty of mature trees coming into play. Several holes also feature water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. Chardonnay Golf Club's greens are lightning fast and the course plays long. One of the most memorable holes, both for the scenery and level of difficulty is the par-3 eighth. This hole is framed by stunning views of the Valley and it requires some clever shotmaking skills.

Elevated tee, what a view. If you turn around and use a spotting scope, you can see the top of one tower of the Golden Gate bridge Photo submitted by Titaniumhen on 12/21/2020

Horrible service
The range was closed although they sold me the token for balls!
The pro shop was closed at 5:30 as we finished so could not even get refund.
Very windy.
Beautiful golf in the vineyards!
It was a beautiful on a mid-long and challenging course. No water, but you do have to hit over
several canyons. Overall, very friendly staff and good conditions. Greens were very fast and had unexpected breaks!
Four-Stars well deserved
Enjoyed my game. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely play there again whenI get the chance. Highly recommended.
Great scenery
Nice layout in the wine country. Great value for the money. No homes . just vineyards and open space. Wish I lived closer ,I would be a regular.
Great winery course!
I was happy to play this course with my husband because I felt like hanging out in winery. Even Though I could not be focus on playing, I enjoyed both golf and date!
Golf in a Vinyard
My wife and I live in our RV full time so I like to play different types of courses as we travel around and Chardonnay fit that criteria. You play right through the grape vines. There is a nice combination of level and hilly holes. Some higher holes have great views of the Napa Valley. The greens were challenging and in very good condition. My wife was allowed to drive the cart for me at no charge and this is a big plus.
Scenic course, Massive Greens, Fairly Open
Very scenic course, can't imagine how pretty it will be in the fall with the leaves turning colors. Greens are massive! Some of the biggest I've played. Rolls weren't too quick but they were true. Also, the course is fairly open, not much trouble outside of strategically placed bunkers and washes crossing some areas. Vineyards are always in play and we certainly made the course tougher to play than it should have been...
Great value
Friendly, attentive staff. Course was in good shape. Greens are challenging but fair.
Greens rolled true
Not lumpy at all. Fairways in good condition. Bunkers could use a little more evening out.
Excellent
Continues to be one of my favorite courses. Scenic and well designed, set in beautiful napa. Staff is always great. Course was in excellent condition.
windy day
Came as single and was joined by another and a twosome. Good fun. I played the "tips" on a day when the wind averaged 18 with 30 mph gusts. Downwind holes were birdie opportunities and of course into the was tough. Greens smooth and about a 10 on stimp meter, good speed but not terrible and I had only 26 putts.
Nice Surprise
We'll add Chardonnay to our options in the East Bay...Easy commute against the traffic from Danville. Facilities a bit tired, but fine. Price fair. Course fun for a 20 handicapper. Especially liked the greens...pretty fast but really true...actually made some putts! Traps had good fine sand but were a bit shallow. Gorgeous setting...guessing that playing early is good to avoid what could be a windy spot...Overall very nice day...
Very nice
The Marshall kept the pace perfect. The staff were very friendly and the course was very fun with a lot of challenges. Highly recommend this course!
First world problems?
The course was in great shape. The staff was very friendly. The pace of play was 3.5 hrs. The first world problem was that there was a 15mph gust that took my tee shot too far. Here, Eagle Vines, Hiddenbrook, and Rancho Solano are all great courses for slope rating, conditions, and price with golf now hot deals.
Slowest Round I ever played
Had a tee time at around 1pm on a Saturday. We were only able to play 16 holes in 5.5 hours before it got dark. The course did nothing to speed things up...what a joke!
Will play again
The course was in great shape and our round was paced perfectly. I was surprised at how open the course was with vineyards intertwined throughout. The day was perfect and I could not have had a better day!
The only negative was that the drink cart only made one round!
This is a course you must play.
Weekend Twilight Round
Had a great time. Fun round. Slow though. Took about 5 hours to complete.
Completely overbooked on weekends. Stay Away!!
I played here on a Saturday and it was the worst golfing experience I've ever had. The course was completely overbooked. My group of 4 started golfing at 12:54 and it took us 1 hour to get through 2 holes. We didn't even get to finish our round before it got dark. Not once, did I see a Marshall. The course was in decent condition, however, I would much rather play at the neighboring Eagle Vines GC for a similar price. Do not waste your money here, go to one of the other great courses that the Napa Valley offers.
Chardonnay Is One of the Best
I always look forward to playing Chardonnay Golf Club. The course is challenging, always in good to great condition, and the pace is only rarely slow, but then I always play during the week. I simply have no complaints about this course, except that sometimes it defeats me! But that's good for us golfers...
5.5 hours to play? Really?
5.5 hours to play, GPS didn't work and couldn't exchange for a cart that had working GPS, very little water on the course, pin placements were completely off. Yeah rough day at what I always considered one of the better short road trips from Sacramento. Sorry guys, too many other options these days.
