Chardonnay Golf Club
About
Sitting at the gateway to the renowned Napa Valley wine district, Chardonnay Golf Club meanders through acres of lush Chardonnay and Merlot vineyards dotted with sparkling lakes and wandering creeks. Native flora and fauna cover the golf course, which also provides a home for an abundance of wildlife including hawks, foxes, bobcats, and even the occasional golden eagle. Besides the spectacular setting, the layout provides one of the most challenging rounds in the area. The rolling landscape provides interesting elevation changes and there are plenty of mature trees coming into play. Several holes also feature water hazards and strategically placed bunkers. Chardonnay Golf Club's greens are lightning fast and the course plays long. One of the most memorable holes, both for the scenery and level of difficulty is the par-3 eighth. This hole is framed by stunning views of the Valley and it requires some clever shotmaking skills.

Course is long and demands long drives
Good challenging course where you need fairway woods for most of your second shots
Highly recommeded
It's been years since I last played Chardonnay and was pleasantly surprised with course conditions and the layout. Played on a Friday afternoon and had the course to ourselves. Enjoyed the course and the experience.
Outstanding value, lots of fun
I played here as a single in the late afternoon. It was a gorgeous day, and I had no idea from the pictures on the club's site how beautiful and fun this course would be to play. Lots of memorable holes. Lots of challenge but also really cool looks, especially from the tips. Course was also in really good shape.
Wine Country Golf
Very pleasant day playing Chardonnay. About an hour and a half drive from the South Bay. if your coming from the South Bay, play early, the traffic on the Benicia Bridge can be horrible..
The course has 5 sets of tee boxes, we played the one that was 6400 yards. Probably could have moved back one set as we both shot under 80.
The only complaint I have about the course was the tee boxes should have been mowed down a bit. My 2-1/ inch tees were not nearly long enough.
The layout is nice. No houses our roads nearby so the course is quiet. Some very challenging holes, and some holes where ou can score. The course plays 6 each par 3, 4, and 5's.
Nice lunch afterward, very friendly staff.
Great Round into the Wind
First time playing this course, but I finished a work meeting nearby early and got a tee time for 28 bucks, so I took the opportunity to check this course off my list. Conditions were great but the wind was a big factor on so many holes. As the afternoon passed the wind got stronger and shot making was tougher and tougher. Wind aside, the views were great, greens and fairways just how I liked them, and I played 18 in under three hours. Great Tuesday and Zach who got my cart set up for me, cleaned my clubs, and genuinely seemed interested in talking to me was a nice way to wrap up my Tuesday. I'll be back
OK, but high priced at regular rates for this quality
This is a slightly above average course, nice variations in altitude, and interesting and sometimes tough greens. I paid $31.50 on Golf Now for an afternoon rate. That's a pretty high price for a slightly above average course. I thought it would be interesting to play in Napa, but 18 holes of grape vines is way too much. Apparently it's the best course in the area, so I wouldn't discount it, but a better price would make it more desirable.
challenge
Fun layout. Greens excellent. some fairways need water and work. traps could use some sand
Get with the program
On any other day I may have said you must play, but not today. Since there was a tournament going on in the afternoon, they sent me off the back. That is fine, but when you do this you must turn off the sprinklers and get the mowers out of the way. Besides that distraction nearly every hole, the course was good. Bring your own water, 4 bucks a bottle, ouch.
Horrible service
The range was closed although they sold me the token for balls!
The pro shop was closed at 5:30 as we finished so could not even get refund.
Very windy.
Beautiful golf in the vineyards!
It was a beautiful on a mid-long and challenging course. No water, but you do have to hit over
several canyons. Overall, very friendly staff and good conditions. Greens were very fast and had unexpected breaks!
Four-Stars well deserved
Enjoyed my game. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely play there again whenI get the chance. Highly recommended.
Great scenery
Nice layout in the wine country. Great value for the money. No homes . just vineyards and open space. Wish I lived closer ,I would be a regular.
Great winery course!
I was happy to play this course with my husband because I felt like hanging out in winery. Even Though I could not be focus on playing, I enjoyed both golf and date!
Golf in a Vinyard
My wife and I live in our RV full time so I like to play different types of courses as we travel around and Chardonnay fit that criteria. You play right through the grape vines. There is a nice combination of level and hilly holes. Some higher holes have great views of the Napa Valley. The greens were challenging and in very good condition. My wife was allowed to drive the cart for me at no charge and this is a big plus.
Scenic course, Massive Greens, Fairly Open
Very scenic course, can't imagine how pretty it will be in the fall with the leaves turning colors. Greens are massive! Some of the biggest I've played. Rolls weren't too quick but they were true. Also, the course is fairly open, not much trouble outside of strategically placed bunkers and washes crossing some areas. Vineyards are always in play and we certainly made the course tougher to play than it should have been...
Great value
Friendly, attentive staff. Course was in good shape. Greens are challenging but fair.
Greens rolled true
Not lumpy at all. Fairways in good condition. Bunkers could use a little more evening out.
Excellent
Continues to be one of my favorite courses. Scenic and well designed, set in beautiful napa. Staff is always great. Course was in excellent condition.
