Chardonnay Golf Club

First time out on this course. Very grateful that there was water available to drink, very hot day to play. The course is very scenic and also very long for a novice golfer, even playing from the gold tees!! Greens were tricky to putt on with many breaks which were difficult to read......but still a nice experience.

A couple of straight forward holes, and a few very challenging make for a nice mix.

Great course, well maintained, go there for golf, not for the service at the restaurant. Earwig in the cream, no apology, actually laughed about it! We finished our breakfast and she brought us our toast afterwards, no apology again.

I have played this course for a few years, and it has never been in this good of shape. Very nice place to play.

Greens were true and fairways were in great shape. Tee'd off @ 7:20am and finished our round just before 11:00. Definitely coming back!!

Played here twice during a napa valley visit. The first day was so windy that it was difficult to stand and the greens were fast. Came back for a second try and enjoyed the experience. The greens are fast and narrow. Difficult to hold. Winding thru the vineyards was pleasant.

This Napa course is well worth your time to play. Set amongst the vineyards the course has gone thru several changes and turned out the better for it. Holes are fair and interesting. Two holes back to back are the 7th and 8th. The 7th is a long par 5 with the third shot over a ravine to a greeen on the side of the hill. The 8th is a par 3 downhill shot to a 4 level green. The pace of play was good and the weather was perfect.

Don't know what has happen in the last 5 years but the condition of the course is poor. For the money I would think they could provide a better conditioned course. I've been to many city course in better shape. The greens were plugged about four weeks ago and I think they took all the sand out of the bunkers to sand the greens.

I stopped playing at Chardonnay several years ago when the greens and fairways were not well kept. I have now played Chardonnay 3 times in the last month. The new course superintendent has done an excellent job with everything... The fairways are in good condition and the greens are excellent!! They are smooth fast and difficult but fair as putts hold their line and are not bumpy.

Challenging course, not for novice or for players who play occasional rounds.

Guess I'm not used to NorCal conditions but this place and hiddenbrooke are right up there for two worst vacay courses I've ever played.

Chardonnay Golf Course is in the southern part of Napa Valley, situated near Highway 12. The course was in good condition, with the fairways and greens well maintained. The greens were pretty quick on this day, and the pin positions challenging. The course designer must have been thinking of dieting when he created the greens, as most are quite narrow with very little width, like a thin waistline. This makes for difficult approach shots to the greens, as there is very little room for error on the narrow greens. It makes for an interesting and challenging day on the course. In summary, Chardonnay is a good golf course, well maintained, staffed by competent and cordial employees. I recommend this golf course.

Your views are all vineyards. Greens are tough to hold. Love that.
All chips must be high to land soft , or they are gone.

THIS COURSE WAS TEE TO GREEN CHALLENGING BUT NOT OVERWELMING. THE GREENS WERE THE MOST DIFFICULT. THEY WERE HARD TO READ AND THE SPEED WAS NOT CONSISTENT THROUGH OUT THE COURSE. OVERALL I WAS PLEASED WITH THE CONDITION OF THE COURSE EXCEPT FOR THE TEE BOXES WERE IN HORRIBLE SHAPE. SOME TEE BOXES IT WAS HARD TO FIND A DECENT SPOT TO HIT FROM.

Plenty good course. Greens and fairways in good shape. Cart paths are quite beat up, but that's not a big deal. Tee boxes were chewed up. Pace of play that day was awful!

decent but no course marshals to speed up slow groups. Tee boxes are not level, need a lot of work

This course isn't difficult to the point that it's frustrating, but it definitely requires some accuracy on approach. The greens are fast, and often don't break as much as one would expect. Overall its a good time and the food is great, too.
