Opened in 1923, Ojai Valley Inn Golf Course is one of California's first great courses. Over the decades that the course has been open, it has hosted a number of professional players and celebrities ranging from Arnold Palmer to Will Smith. George C. Thomas, Jr., who created the Riviera, collaborated with Billy Bell to design the original golf course but Jay Morrish made the layout considerably more challenging with renovations in 1988. Ten years later, two holes from the original Thomas/Bell layout that were lost during a redesign following WWII were completely restored and incorporated into the layout. The challenging golf course is very narrow in some spots and it features undulating greens that putt fast and true. The layout is not particularly long but it requires accuracy and proper club selection in order to score well.

Great Round - Coming Back ASAP

After my round I immediately booked another date. I can’t wait to come back.

This was my first trip to Ojai. From West LA it took ~75 min. Considering the time of year - it was very cold as I arrived around 7:25a. The course had collected frost overnight and there was a slight delay as a result; however, the pace caught up significantly and the round finished with quick pace.

The course is beautiful and very entertaining. It was challenging but manageable. There are some really fun holes; like the Par-3 16th.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The set-up is first class. Great practice facilities, and grass range.

I highly recommend the drive. Well worth the time!

In great shape

As always a real pleasure to play here. Course is in great shape for January and all the greens are back to 100% healthy! Staff as always were great. The resort is closed but the course is open so parking was not a problem.

extremely slow pace

had a tee time at 12.20, started already almost 10min late, front 9 (which where actually the back 9 - we started playing at hole 10 for weather / temperature reason) had a pace of over 5h. Back 9 picked up the pace a but but we still ended up at and almost 5h round. Expect better for that kind of course / money...

Ojai Valley Inn GC -What an enjoyable round!

I never do reviews but my round of golf today at Ojai Valley Inn Golf Club was a treat! First, $110 for a round including cart and range balls is A STEAL at this exceptional course! It was in great shape and the pace of play was very good. The course is a great layout and the scenery was just gorgeous and relaxing. All the staff was super nice and helpful. My playing partner and I didn’t even care about our score, it was just nice to be on a challenging course and also feel like you are on vacation. I will definitely be playing again at Ojai Valley Inn!

Ojai Valley Inn Back to normal quality standards!

Played 34 holes for my birthday on Sunday. Last time I played at OVI this summer, the greens were in very poor shape on the front nine. They were excellent on Sunday - even the previously damaged 6th and 8th green.

The course was in very good condition from tee to green. The staff was great.

It is a nice resort and a couple things are a bit pricey (Golf and drinks), but despite that it was a great time at a great course on a beautiful day. I look forward to coming back soon.
