About
Opened in 1923, Ojai Valley Inn Golf Course is one of California's first great courses. Over the decades that the course has been open, it has hosted a number of professional players and celebrities ranging from Arnold Palmer to Will Smith. George C. Thomas, Jr., who created the Riviera, collaborated with Billy Bell to design the original golf course but Jay Morrish made the layout considerably more challenging with renovations in 1988. Ten years later, two holes from the original Thomas/Bell layout that were lost during a redesign following WWII were completely restored and incorporated into the layout. The challenging golf course is very narrow in some spots and it features undulating greens that putt fast and true. The layout is not particularly long but it requires accuracy and proper club selection in order to score well.

Golfer Reviews
Great course
Simply not worth it
3x playing here. I’ve learned my lesson. 6 hour rounds at $150/player for a remote resort course. Not worth the drive from SB or LA. And forget about the course. That first hole is a red flag of what’s to come. Other great golf courses that won’t consume your entire day.
MUST PLAY
Been wanting to play Ojai for awhile now and today was it🙌🏼… Drove 2 hours and I will drive them again soon🏌️♂️👌🏼.. I don’t have nothing bad to say about the Ojai all the staff greets you with a smile and are willing to help you out with any questions you got and the course has to be one if not the best course I have played in California….HOPE TO GO BACK SOON 🙌🏼
Amateur golfers..octogenarians
Our first time there. Very busy….first hole was confusing ,and we drove cart in restricted area… but then we got the hang of it.
A beautiful course, lovely staff and worth the money..

Heaven on Earth
Not many courses in CA compare to Ojai Valley Inn. Setting, conditions, staff, food, weather was perfect!!!
Beautiful Course with Sparce Eating choices
This has to be the best course and most beautiful setting from LA to Paso Robles! Even Ty Warner's Sandpiper does not hold a candle to this. Sad. Anyway, I cannot say enough about the condition and layout of the course. I want to also give a BIG 5 star rating to the staff as they are exceptional in customer service. My only "gripe" is there is no direction to where one can get some quick bites or food after a round of this great course. I know this is a posh place with suits and ties but what about those who have spent good money to play and want to taste some "great" food as well. I would recommend you bring your own food/drink until that changes.
Amazing place
Staff was fantastic, the place is huge. I only saw 2 other people on the course on a Monday in August. Course is shirt but challenging, wayyyy too many bunkers but they were avoidable for a better golfer. I was done in under 3 hours. The greens were receptive but quick when putting. Get the caddie map there are some blind shots. If you forget your driver you will be fine.
Only slight complaints was the bunkers were low on sand or it was hard sand and some if the golfers were lazy fixing divots.
Highly recommend it!!
Great people, excellent course
Was recommended in going there and wasn’t disappointed. The staff is top notch and the course for being in socal was nice and green. Good challenging holes and played pretty quick for a Sunday
