Cinnabar Hills Golf Club - Lake/Canyon

Had the pleasure of playing this terrific layout with my son. Went off at 11:45 and finished in 4 hours 15 minutes. Challenging but fair with great scenery and views. The course was in top shape and is a must play for anyone golfing in the Bay Area. The staff from the pro shop to the grille were super nice and accommodating. Take the time to check out the golf museum and trophy collection. The history they have created gives it the feel of the type of old links courses like you would play in Ireland. Can't wait to play it again!

I golfed with a San Jose State golfer. The course was in great condition.

We arrived, went to hit balls and there was a sign that said ball dispenser out of order, get balls in pro shop.

Went to pro shop to be informed range closed Monday mornings.

Snack shack employee pretty rude.

We teed off at 7:50, 3rd group off.

Group in front of us was a clown show, zero marshalls out there, took 4:40 and nobody ahead of group in front of us.

Group in front of them was two holes ahead by number 7 and 8 holes ahead by number 10.

Course conditions were great, really enjoyed the layout but it is a difficult course.

Would love to play it during a day when pace is better, 4:40 on a Monday morning is unacceptable.

I got a great twilight deal. I live in the area and pass it on my way home countless times. The course I played was a bit challenging compared to other courses I play in the area. Lots of holes where you have to clear gaps and hazards to make it to the fairway. I lost a few balls but enjoyed the challenge. I’m an ok player nowhere near a pro. I wouldn’t play this as a beginner course but one you will enjoy with a little bit of experience. Don’t let this detour you as a beginner just be aware and bring enough balls lol. Great course can’t wait to go back!

Fun, challenging course. It was very hot the day I played. Did the Lake/Canyon nines. I’ll be back when the weather cools down! Lol

Fun, challenging course. It was to hot for my taste. Expected high 70's-80's. Was mid 90's. Obviously not the courses fault, but was roasting! Lol I'll be back when it cools down. Lol

Just a few things kept me from 5 star for this round. 1. Cost of food at the turn was way too high. I felt like I was at a baseball game. Two hotdogs and two Gatorades for $30.00?!

2. It seemed that they called the carts in to the paths too early. Many time we had to walk 100 yards to our balls. At 75 in the heat this can be a problem.

It’s still a great course I look forward to playing each year.

Decided last minute and found a great twilight deal. Impressed not disappointed. Looking forward to playing there again soon. Definitely recommend!

Golfnow did not flag this tee time as “Aeration Alert” and charged me the regular green fees when the course was clearly calling out aeration alert on their private website. The greens had huge punches and ball was bouncing around to make putting ridiculous. Golfnow must refund me the overpriced tee time. This was a worst day of golf….

First time playing here (Mountain/Lake) and had a fun round. Course layout had character, conditions were good (greens a little slow), and friendly staff. From out of town, but would go back if in the area again.

Great course in the foothills, runs through canyons with big elevation changes and oaks everywhere, quintessential Cali golf. Lake course doesn't really have any more water than the other (2) nines. Canyon plays more like target golf, tighter and less forgiving with a few holes straight uphill (and a few downhill too, of course). Greens had been aerated end of July (kind of early for that?) which I was unaware of when booking, although maybe I did not read the fine print! Overall a great experience, as usual.

This is a very challenging course to play. It will test all of your skills but the views are incredible.
