Greens in good shape and fairways not bad ether. Fun little track. Started out with rain delay, but drained off nicely. Though i was in for a long round because of (2) foursomes in front of me but they moved along at a good pace. obviously member. I would give it a try again.

one of the employee's from the pro shop was playing behind us and approached us and said we were too close to the greens and the tee boxes. they put us on a list. apparently unknowingly they must have followed us and observed our play. then one day we were told that we were banned from play because we were too close to the green, and tee boxes. also we weren't raking our sand traps. I don't like the feeling of being watched. There are too many golf courses in the area. I think a suspension would be more appreciate. There is absoultly no water on the course and the soda machines don't accept bills half the time.I am also handicapped and the lad in the pro shop was a jerk about it.

Really need more than one water station per nine holes if your not gonna have a cart beverage service. And the bartender in the small shop was pretty good at throwing people under the bus. Its an older course, tight fairways but was is very good shape on greens. Just need to be more professional . Seems a little run down.

I have played here a bunch and figured I should finally give my two cents. This place is looking better and better especially with the dire condition of some of the other courses around the area and the closing of Rolling Hills. The greens are excellent just a touch on the slow side and the fairways and tee boxes are good as well. For the middle of the summer it is in excellent condition. The food is also very good as well.

Course played nice. Fairways were in decent shape and the greens were taken care of. My rating would have been higher, however there was not a cart on the course. When it's 100 degrees, have someone selling drinks - you would have made a killing. We did run into a group of 5, thankfully that was on the 18th hole. For the most part, an enjoyable course.

This course is excellent. Very nice layout. Makes one think off the tee. If you hit it straight you will like this course. The greens are very receptive, but a little on the slow side. If that doesn't bother you then you will enjoy it.

The one huge negative was the pace of play, and rudeness of the locals. I was on the third hole and waiting for a five some in front of me. After several holes I asked if I could play through, they said their were two five somes in front of them and that I couldn't . I finally passed the first two (had to skip those holes) and continued my round. Caught up with the next group on the back nine.

I was stuck behind them for some time and finally had to ask the younger guys in that group if I could play through, they said go ahead. Hit the green in regulation, and the older gentlemen hit my ball with his club back to me and said just move on to the next hole. This was after I had been waiting on multiple holes. The next hole was a par five, and i'm a quick player, The old men hit into me while I was still on the hole.

If you don't mind dealing with people like this then go ahead and book a tee time. Its a shame I won't be going back because of them, because the course is beautiful.

Staff courteous, course conditions were good and well maintained. Value was outstanding.

We were a little disappointed to see a group of 5 ahead of us, until our round was shortened by the coming storm...On our way in to the clubhouse we drove by not 1 or 2 or 3, but 4 groups of 5 ahead of us...no wonder we were waiting on EVERY shot...Just not acceptable on a public course, and especially on a holiday when it's already crowded...where's the course management?

Fair course, tboxes really rough, staff was nice ,older facility

This was my first time playing this course, and all in all it was a good experience. I arrived on time but there were no carts available, so the very friendly staff compensated with a bucket of balls. Nice touch. Got playing after around 30 mins. Pace of play was great. The greens were in near pristine condition and rolled fast and true. A couple of brown spots here and there on a few of the fairways but nothing severe enough to ruin the experience. Nice ambiance. The layout is also a bit interesting and somewhat challenging. Only played the front 9 due to rain, but I really look forward to visiting again and play the whole course. Overall, no complaints and I left feeling very pleased. Will definitely be one of my regular hangouts from now on.

Con's:

Bunkers - not consistent everything from fluffy to hard clay.
Greens - Clearly the course gets heavy traffic with bomb shell markings (ball marks) all over. Quail Valley and Riverbend are significantly better. Very few ball marks get repaired.
Rough - cart traffic and amount of play combined with extremely hard clay type soil makes rough in most places non existent.
Time of Play - On weekends expect 4.5 hours minimum for a round. Too many high handicap players playing White on Pecan (6700 yards) and shooting 100+. Also they allow five to a group.

Pros: Two courses both distinctly different. One long and more open other short and narrow with more water. Cypress requires every club in bag. Pecan more forgiving although longer.
Facilities - Top notch, some of the best in the city. Bar, Locker Rooms and Dinning Room excellent.
Walking - Easy walking course.

Worth playing if you ever get the chance, however from what I hear the members pay for the amenities more so than the quality of the course. With the number of members they have and amount of traffic on the course it will never be a top notch course. If you want the best course in Sugar Land and Missouri City play Riverbend. It is close to PGA Tournament quality.

Greens and fairway is in great shape. Played only eight hole then rain rain rain.

Hello, I am writting this review because I love sweet water but there staff is absolutely horrible. The part time golf cart assistants are rude and so are the pro shop workers. When me and my father were playing 18 holes we had one of the golf cart boys harass us about being to close to greens with are golf cart. This very rude employee named Connor accosted us by saying "you guys were to close to the greens and if i see you again that close your out of here!". I was shocked here is this juvenile harassing me and my father about being to close and decided to say it on the following hole! Sweet water fix your staff or I am afraid you are going to lose all your customers. also tell your employees to learn some customer service skills!

Like many courses that wind through a neighborhood, Sweetwater has fairly narrow fairways on most holes, which accounts for the degree of difficulty. Most of the fairways and greens are in very nice condition. There are not too many water holes, and I lost only 2 balls during the round.
There are some very pretty holes, with some hills involved. Another challenge comes in the form of many trees that make placement of shots critical in order to have clear green approaches. I played particularly poorly, but would still like to try this course again.

Booked through Golf Now and got a ridiculous $14 rate at 1:00 in the afternoon on a Saturday. Fairways were a bit shaky but as long as you don't mind playing winter rules it's nothing you can't deal with with. Greens were in absolutely awesome shape, not the speediest but were firm and rolled true. 17's green is in some rough shape but the rest were all outstanding. Played as a threesome and played in about 3:15 in the middle of the afternoon. Facilities are outdated but if you're looking at it from a golf standpoint it's just fine. Not the longest golf course in Central Florida but you'll need to hit it straight to play well. Many of the par 3's are quite long but 4's and 5's are short to average length. Enjoyed the day and hopefully they can get the fairways under control and we'll give it another try in a few months.

The greens were very nice and the speed was decent. Fairways were good for the most part. A couple of tee boxes were under repair. But overall I would rate the course as a 4.5. I have always liked the layout. Fun day.

The greens are in excellent condition but the fairways are a little sparce and patchy. Winter was not kind to this course.
