Sweetwater Golf & Country Club
About
Sweetwater Country Club is situated amid the beauty of the Wekiva State Park. Sweetwater is one of Orlando's premier golf courses, boasting a challenging championship layout with some of the area's best greens. The classic links layout brings a taste of Scottish golf to central Florida. Mature oaks shade the golf course, lining the fairways and framing the greens. The 6,771-yard layout offers a good amount of length but it's definitely not a grip-it-and-rip-it course thanks to tight fairways that require accurate shot placement. The course is home to one of the longest par 5s in the Southeast, a challenging 625-yard hole that is aptly named the "Loch Ness Monster." The heavily tree-lined hole double doglegs around a large lake. There are some challenging holes but Sweetwater Country Club isn't overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Horrible first 9 halls and good last 9 halls
Staff, Devon was very friendly. But the fist 9 halls look retrofitted into residential area and horrible layout. The last 9 halls look decent golf course
In rough Condition!
First time there and have to say, don’t think I’ll be back. Fairways are patchy and very dry and a rough ride. Greens are a mix of grass and dirt and open spots. There are some good greens on the course. Have to also say I’m surprised at the gas golf carts. I would think that the residents would complain of the noise in a quiet neighborhood. Pace of play was terrible. Teed off before eleven and finished over 4 hours later. Just 2 in our group. But a day on the course is better than any day at work.
Do not play here
I am very disappointed that based on recent review, i booked for 3 to have good time. The course is in its worst condition, not single green/fairway is in decent condition. Felt that we are playing on ground covered with dead grass or sand or dirt through out. Please do not waste your money and tim. I am being honest with my review. Only good thing is the Club House, looks like a new one.
Course markings
Course has a unique hole layout. No signage to the next tee. Drove past the 2nd 7th tee boxes. If not for other golfers in near by fairways we would’ve missed 2 holes. Plus gate was locked to clubhouse entrance. No key pad or intercom. Had to wait for someone to drive by. Not worth the 54 bucks for the extra agrivation
Course needs work/No practice facilities
I played Sweetwater for the first time as I booked with a Hot Deal. Read some of the reviews saying the course had improved. The course must have been even worse if this is improved. The fairways are thin with not much Bermuda grass & a lot of mowed down weeds Most always a thin lie in the fairway. Greens were ok but some had bare spots. Pace was good until we caught up to a very slow group ahead In addition, to my surprise the course has no driving range or a practice putting green. I thought I would give this course a try but once is enough for me as I will not be returning
Only good thing about this course was the beautiful cart girl
This was my first time playing a country club. I don’t think I will again until my 60s. I got sandwiched between two groups of 4 at a course that has never heard about pace of play. Constantly watching 4 guys tee off and then having 4 watch me tee off. Fairways were not the tightest but had houses on the right and the left. Not in great shape. Greens were half decent. Only positive on the day was my brief interaction with the stunningly gorgeous cart girl. If you’re looking to get in a quick 9, this course is not the move.
Major improvements!
Major improvements! The course still needs work, but the greens are actually greens you can putt on now. Some holes are still awful due to the hole layout, but still a nice place to play.
Sweetwater 9-holes
Played 9 holes at Sweetwater and must say the greens were in great shape and the course overall in really good shape. It’s a little wonky for 6 and 7 but all in all, well worth the price.
Rat Track…
course is like 20 lbs or crap stuffed into a 5 lb bag….
nothing good about this joint period !
Nice course
For the price I loved it. I think the back 9 can comptee with a lot of courses. Loved the rolling hills and tight lines.
