Great Course with a fantastic view
Played after some rain, course was wet in parts but overall in good condition. The view for the course is fantastic.
Good
If we had dry wether in the last week I think it would have been lovely but I will look forward to playing it again when there has not been much rain as it is stunning looking course.
Great course
superb course great veiws staff so helpful will play here again 100%
A course to play but not to stay
This course has probably the most stunning views of Belfast. The course is nestled between the famous Cavehill and Belfast Lough.
The course is hilly, basically the majority of the holes run up and down. There are buggies available and if you have any aches or pains in the legs I would recommend getting one, but you have to book a head. The fairways are tree lined but not densely, so if you do hit into them you’ll be able to have a shot out to at least advance your ball.
The course was beautifully laid out, the greens were fair rather than quick so suits a mid to high handicapper. Every hole has a stunning view of Cavehill and Belfast Lough and is worth a visit simply for that.
Now the only downside to this course. I’ve played this course a few times and each time I have to say I’m unimpressed with the welcome that it gives to its visitors. The welcome is a reluctant hello, if you even get that and some of the bar staff could do with a course in customer service which is a shame as the clubhouse is large and modernish and the views over the course are stunning from the outdoor seating.
Great days golf
The course was in great shape, greens as good as iv played this winter. Tough test shot 29 points stiff wind blew some great views .
Course with a view
Fortwilliam is a golf course that is a good challenge for golfers of all handicaps with one main distraction... The views!! Fairways and greens were in good order despite the lack of rain.. Would we return.. Absolutely
Great golf course
Had a lovely sunny day at Fortwilliam, course was in excellent condition, couldn't fault it ...greens we're the best I've played on this year!staff were very friendly & helpful.
Worth a visit
Excellent experience. Course was in very good condition & the weather was very good making the experience even more enjoyable. I would recommend a visit.
Nice course, worth a visit
This is a decent challenge, unfortunately the few times I have played it, it has been wet. This is not entirely the fault of the course (heavy rain 24/48 hours prior to play). Looking forward to playing it in the dry.
Need to be relatively fit as it's not a flat course. Tee boxes and fairways are looked after. Greens are fast, even when wet! Layout is interesting and far from dull. I enjoy playing this course.
Golf with the Cave hill as background, stunning views
Played two days before captains day , the course was immaculate. Staff were very helpful and the club pro slotted me into a four ball of members . I enjoyed every minute of our game and they made me feel really welcome . Many thanks to all for a great days golf on a tight , tricky course. Special mention to The greens which were a joy to putt on , tough to read . Brilliant
Great parkland course
This is a fantastic course with lots of hills and stunning scenery to take in along the way. As we played in November it was a bit soft underfoot off the fairways but still in great condition for time of year. Full tees and greens, with greens being immaculate. May be hilly for some people so book a buggy to help you round. Overall a great course on the outskirts of Belfast.
Lightening fast greens
Beautiful scenery and we'll maintained course, quite hilly tho as expected , greens are immaculate but tricky as they are lightening fast
fortwilliam
Course was nice though bunkers had quite a lot of stones and gravel in them but worth another go
Great views
Good course but bring a respirator and a map;)
I would have enjoyed the day a lot more if we would have hired out a golf buggy
Our 4 ball walk all courses but would recommend a golf buggy around here because we all struggled up and down the hills.
We are all relativity fit aged 30ish and did find it very tiring.
Many tee boxes where not marked and hard to navigate to the next tee.
The course was in good condition with excellent greens. Testing course with a good variety of holes. Fantastic views of the cave Hill and belfast lough.
Definitely take at least an extra club length when shooting up hill & rent a buggy ;)
