Looking forward to playing this course booked online checked in with the pro never mentioned greens where in bad state felt like walking of after 9 back 9 holes slightly just better than front the rest of the course was spot on . Walked back in after playing told them was happy with conditions of greens then says greenkeeper put wrong fertiliser on them didn't offer any discount or anything. Played this course many times this was worst I had ever seen it .
Terrible greens
Booked this course as it appeared to be good value. Having played the course many times before I was looking forward to a well presented course as on previous occasions.
But when we arrived on the first “Green” or should I say “Brown” only to find all the grass was dead, which we only found out afterwards that not only the first but all but two greens where grassless due to inappropriate fertiliser being used.
I felt we should have been advised of this prior to playing.
When the rain came as it does in mid summer in Ireland the putting surface turned muddy and unplayable.
We did complain to Golf now and got a full refund, but still felt short changed on a waste of time, of which was a Father’s Day treat from my sons and wife.
However the food in the noisy grill was ok.
Brilliant fun
Only play golf for a bit of fun, so you find some places to be quite unfriendly when you turn up with old clubs and old gear.
I was expecting much of the same here but couldn’t be more wrong, very friendly staff at the golf club shop. The course was very well kept and a brilliant layout, good mix hole types and hazards. Best game of golf in a long time. Very under rated.
Good Winter option
Course was in good condition considering the previous 2 weeks weather. Fairways all dry, greens in good condition. No temporaries. Not too many parkland courses you can play at this time of year. Good test at all times of the year
Great condition for time of year
Played Hilton in early November and was very pleased with the condition of the course. Despite large amounts of rain in recent weeks the course was generally firm under foot with only the odd exception. The greens were very good running true and quite fast for winter golf. The only downside was the amount of leaves on some holes were a good shot could still lead to a lost ball. Overall a great test of golf and I would recommend the Hilton to anyone who hasn’t yet played it.
Experience
Loved the breakfast in hotel then 18 holes of golf .
For under £25 .
Highly recommend hilton .

Great course
Great course had very enjoyable day for all the bad weather lately the course was in very good shape can't wait to get back again
excellent course and value for money
good shape. didn't see an unreplaced divot, an unraked bunker etc. Course is flat, which is good for walkability, but does make it seem a bit samey. Good mix of long par 4's and short ones, water in play on probably half the holes. Would go again, was a very pleasant afternoon.
Fading beauty in need of TLC
This course is highly recommended during winter as always playable with all tees and greens open. Excellent drainage.
In summer this course never reaches its full potential. The bunker sand is the worst I have ever encountered and something that maybe came from the local DIY store plus depth is very inconsistent and extremely deep and soft in some bunkers.
Almost impossible to find flat area on tee's unless you play Blues (very back) and despite irrigation on greens it's never used despite lots of irrigation lakes meaning rock hard greens that even pure shots will struggle to hold.
Golf facilities are excellent (range, practise areas, locker rooms, buggies) and also staff very welcoming plus the value is exceptional given the area.
This place really needs some TLC from the green staff/management and will yield an exceptional course.
This course has some challenging holes.
The staff were very helpful and pleasant.
The course was in very good condition.
With one exception the location of the holes are well marked.
Great course
The course is outstanding the food in the hotel bar is shocking
Hilton Hotel Golf Course Co Antrim

First time at this course. Heard a lot of good things about it. And I wasn't disappointed. The weather was terrible and had rained for about three days non stop. But tee box's where in surprisingly good condition as where the fairways. There was a lot of standing water on the fairways but considering the conditions it was understandable, but they were firm enough underfoot and when striking the ball. Greens where excellent and ran very true and surprisingly quick. The water hazards were tricky but fun to deal with. I had to really think about my next shot. Down side thete where no tee box numbers telling me which hole I was on. I had to look at my scorecard map to get my bearings. Excellent day out will be back in the better weather
