About
Winchester Golf Club boasts a championship course that was a collaboration between Robert Trent Jones Sr. and Jr. The foothills of the Sierra Mountains serve as the backdrop to the course, which sits at a convenient elevation of 1,800 feet that puts it right above the fog but below the winter snows. The golf course also enjoys panoramic views of the Sacramento Valley. Massive rock outcroppings border the fairways, calling for some creative shot making. Accuracy is also a necessity with meandering creeks and bunkers coming into play on most holes. The layout is challenging but five sets of tees make the golf course approachable for a variety of skill levels. Winchester G.C. is not only well known throughout northern California, it has also been ranked as one of the 15 best in the state.

Wonderful golf course! Unfortunately we quit after 10 holes…. We had been on the front side for almond 3 hours…. We got to 11 tee & there were two groups waiting for the green to clear…. It was definitely going to be a six hour round! 😞
Great course in Placer county
I played today for the first time in many years, the course was in fantastic shape. Fairways and roughs were thick , greens were fast and smooth. It’s a beautiful layout

Overall great course. Fun layout. One of the most fun rounds I’ve had.
Great Course - Disappointing Facilities
The course was in great condition, was not busy and we had a great time on the course.
However, very limited staff around to assist, the driving range was out of action (due to maintenance), the main restaurant was closed (for refurb) and the food options upstairs was very limited (and the quality was actually not very good either).
A real shame, as the course is excellent, but with that high price, we would expect better facilities to make the day more enjoyable, especially for my father who had travelled from the UK.
Entertaining Course
The course was in great shape following the winter and spring rains. It was challenging, but not over the top. It's on the expensive side, but otherwise an enjoyable outing.
Pretty and fun layout
One of the most fun courses I’ve ever played! Lots of elevation, fun challenging greens, just a perfect amount of challenge while staying incredibly fun. Almost every hole had a beautiful view. Overall great course.
Great course but bunkers need work
Title says it all. Course was in great shape but the bunkers were thin and full of rocks.
Course in great shape!
We had a great day and the weather was awesome, we teed it up at noon and it turned out to be the perfect time, we had a good pace of play and rarely saw any other golfers on the course. I love this course and I am considering a membership here, it outclasses any other course in the area. It has a gorgeous clubhouse with excellent views of the course from the patio, the facility is squeaky clean and the staff is great! I just wish my game was better and I am finally getting to know the ins and outs of the fairways and greens after my 4th round. # 18 tee box view is my favorite!
