Winchester Country Club

Saturday noon tee time took 6 hours to play so won’t be coming back - marshals were on course and apologetic for slow playing “members” . No enforcement of pace of play which is one of the key responsibilities of a Marshal! Can’t stand 6 hour rounds so telling everyone I know to avoid playing this course- just not worth it

This is the best layer out course in the area. The greens were incredibly fast today! I’ll be coming back soon.

Pay half the cost and play Turkey Creek or Dark Horse or The Ridge. They are just a pretty, just as difficult and half the cost.

Overall for the money I will play Turkey Creek or Dark Horse which are just as nice and half the cost.

I probably won't be playing here again. Just to expensive for what it is.

Just like 2018, when we last played an NCGA major here, it was phenomenal.

In fact, the course was in better shape from tee to green this time…with the exception of standing water near every drain as it was hot. I could smell the trees getting hot.

Yes, we had fires, SMOKE, and 105 degrees walking last I played here in a NCGA major, the Sac Valley in 2018.

I wish I still played my draw. More of a fade now that I’m a senior,

BUT I did pipe enough drives from the TIPS to know how this place is. 75.1 rating 145 slope…

And worth every penny.

If Yocha can charge $100 so can Winchester which is WAY better…just start on hole 10 to realize the task ahead.

I will be back! Practice facilities is top notch. Staff very friendly and helpful. As for the course, it’s well maintained. One of my pet peeves with some courses is uneven tee boxes, not at this place though. Some blind tee shots but if you know where to hit, it’s very getable. Couple holes kinda quirky, one of the par 4s has a huge pine tree you’ll need to navigate around. As for the greens, fast and true. Now that I have a better idea of the layout, can’t wait to play it again. Not sure why previous reviewer urgregory777777 had so many gripes about this place, maybe a previous disgruntled member?

Winchester golf course was wonderful!! The staff is wonderful and accommodating, the price is about right for that course. The views of the course and houses in the backdrops are beautiful!! I definitely will be back to play here again, but maybe not when it's 95 degrees, (a little too warm for me!!)

Enjoyed playing here again. Haven’t been in years but it was a great time. Play was slowed from a morning tournament but otherwise not too bad. Lots more homes on the course now.

Excellent course well designed with beautiful views along with championship greens. Don't miss it. Will become one of your favorites!

First time playing here and it was a top notch experience in every aspect. One of the best in the area easily.

Just a fabulous layout. Private course, that was in the mountains of northern California.

The layout was a bit circular so that we came back to the clubhouse after nine holes. was able to order ahead for food at the 7th hole . luckily I had a group who had played the course before so I did not get too lost. Greens were so very fast, like putting on a kitchen floor! I definitely want to play here again .

Winchester CC is the best golf course in the greater Sacramento area. The course, clubhouse, restaurant, views and area are all extremely upscale and luxurious. Definitely has that wow factor. Greens were pure as well as the rest of the course. Highly recommend.

I am from Madison Alabama, just here in area to visit 6 of our 13 grandchildren!

This course is superb, but u need someone who has played this course or u will get lost!

RYAN our young starter paired me up with 3 young golfers who knew the layout. Still got lost 3 times in neighborhood! Lost 4 golf balls but found 2 new balls. (Free range balls provided to warm up so come early! Golf carts well maintained & have GPS on the hen, bring a USB cable to charge u cell phone!)

Just like Whitney Oaks, Greens were so easy to 3 puttt.

If u not in correct quadrant on green u can easily 3 putt. (Helps to have flag positions .) Some water, but a beautiful setting, bring your camera . Hole 15 par 3 is just gorgeously set up. I loved this course located up in the mountains! I hope to play it again.
