Good layout, bad condition
Played this course in July 2017 for the first time. Me and a friend paid £15 each for a hot deal at 5.08pm, to then be told at the pro shop that they have a 'twilight' green fee of £12 after 5pm. Golfnow later refused a partial refund so was not impressed.
Many people turned up to play at 5 because of the twilight rate so the play was very slow. We were a two-ball and I had to ask the four-ball in front if we could play though, even though I was waiting for them to tee off at the next hole. People think they don't need to invite a faster group through if they themselves haven't lost ground on the group in front, which does my head in.
Very disappointed with the course because it was in bad condition, especially for it being July. Such a let down because the course layout is good but they don't look after the course it seems.
Bogged Down, Literally
Normally an enjoyable course. Having found the pro shop locked on arrival at 2.40pm on a Saturday afternoon, the day progressively got worse form there. Teed off on time at 2.54pm and by the end of the first hole we we mucked to knees walking down the first fairway. Played the first 4 holes in 40 mins and then ran into the groups ahead. Took 80 mins to play the next 3 holes due to two group of very slow men and 3 groups of juniors who were behind them. One of these shouldn't have been on the course at all. Phone the Pro Sop from the 9th tee but as no one picked up we were redirected to the bar. Bar staff took the message but obviously didn't want to know, so nothing was done about it. Last junior group walked off after 9th green but it was slow the rest of the back nine. It still took us 4.5hrs in total for a two ball and was dark by the time we were putting out on the 18th. All in all a very poor display from Moyola Golf Club all round. Greens were good but in my view the course shouldn't even have been open.
The course was very well presented although it was a little wet underfoot. The grass under the trees (my playing partner was telling me) was cut low and gave the wayward golfer a chance to find their ball and get it hacked out into play.
We had a great day
Would highly recommend Moyola as a great golfing venue
Course in good condition
Had two 4ball booked to play at moyola and all of us enjoyed the day will play this course again

Mr Shiels
Really enjoyed my round of golf great course at Moyola a little soft under foot in places but that's irish weather for you definitely be back.
Moyola: a great golf course
My son and I had a great time at Moyola - the round was his Fathers Day present to me. We both love the course and thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon on this great course. There were some slow golfers who held us up without offering to let us through (until the 18th tee!), but that was a minor issue.
Great price for a great morning golf session
Great price, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful setting with just a bit of a shower at the end.
Fantastic greens
Great course with a fantastic variety of holes, staff were friendly and the course was maintained to a very high level - would definitely play here again in a heartbeat.
Moyola
Found this course on the golfnow website available to play @ £13. After playing an 18 hole course in extremely good nick it was decided that we'd come back again in the near future. Definitely extremely good value for money. Good facilities and very friendly staff, a good day all round.
A good course to try
The course was quite damp with lying water in a few places, but still in very good nick, especially the greens.
There are a couple of longish linking walks between greens and following tees, which possibly adds to the impression that the course is quite a trek, but actually two of the par 4s are only just 300yds & six are under 400yds. Numbers 8, 15 & 17 are real crackers, plus 18 is a great big, wide, long par 5 to finish.
The only criticism I would make is that course signage could be better. For anyone who hasn't played Loyola before, navigating one's way to the next tee can be confusing . Also, for a first-time player, it would be very helpful to have some idea of the layout of each hole, perhaps via a pictorial depiction on each tee?
Superb mature parkland course
One word describes this course, SUPERB, fantastic course, excellent condition when played ,no 2 holes the same, ball placement critical on quite a few holes with doglegs and numerous trees, greens were in excellent condition, fairways fantastic condition, course an absolute bargain, you will be itching to get back again a brilliant challenge to all abilities of golfers

Fantastic course. Have played it a lot as I live nearby. Got it for less than 1/2 price through this site.
