Excellent conditions
Have played this course often in the last 6 months. Well maintained tee boxes, fairways, and greens. A hidden gem!
very fun
The course was in a lot better shape then I thought it would be. the greens were in great shape, very fast. the course is a 6500 yard course so its not long, but you have water on most holes so bring extra balls. overall I loved playing and I cant wait to go back and play it again.
First Timer
Recently moved to Orlando and played the course for the first time. Course was in very good condition. The only negative was the pace of play was extremely slow. They had a foursome and threesome ahead of us(a twosome) and we had to wait on every shot. The course itself and the greens were in good condition.
Deer Run in Good Shape
Deer Run is a very difficult Old Florida golf course ! Tight off the tee and a test . The course is in the best shape that I have see it. The tee's and fairways are a good, greens are great ! I would recommend it right now, bring ammo !
Will Be Back
Overall, a very nice golf course. Challenging distances from the Black or Gold tees. Long hitters need to pay special attention to some of the sharp dog-legs, as it will require less than a driver off the tee unless you can muster a severe draw or fade. Rough length a bit deeper than I am used to on the courses I usually play. Greens were in great shape, and were quite fast once the morning moisture burned off towards late AM.
Challenging and well taken care off
Service is excellent, more so when Chris is there. Golf course is in excellent conditions you just can't beat the price.
A nice track in the Orlando area
Deer run is a nice course in central FL in the casselberry town.
Due to rain the day prior to our play the back nine was not available for play.
Had I known this I would not have driven from Daytona.
In any case the course was in decent shape as far as greens, fairways and traps(some had water).
Good value for the money
Only one 9 holes was open but we could have played it twice for $10. Greens were actually good----far better than rest of course. My three grandsons enjoyed the experience.
Really good value.
For $12 to $14 not much more one can ask for, they are constructing places on course for water coolers which is a must in Florida. why they are not there now not sure. The greens were in excellent shape.
Great value in a good location
Appropriately priced and an all-around solid golf course. If you love to fade the ball as a righty, you will love the layout. Really nice, smooth greens that receive approach shots very well. Usually not overcrowded...one of the better public options in metro Orlando.
Great Course
Played from the tips. Isn't to long other than some of the par threes. The holes go left to right, and right to left. Greens roll consistent and are in good condition. Sand traps are also in great condition. Very good for the money, and good overall.
CC at Deer Run
Course greens in great condition, much better than past years of playing here. Good rates and a reasonably, challenging layout with plenty of water and trees to keep you honest!
Nice course!
Had been told mixed things about this course but decided to try it. I was very happy with everything about the course and really enjoyed it!
Enjoyable day
I've played the course many times. Lot of rain this week so course was very wet. No major issues other than freestanding puddles.
fun and challenging
Good condition, but the 2nd cut is long. Miss the fairway and your shot stops cold. Tight dongles make strategy important
Excellent Value
Of all the courses in this price range in the area, these have the best conditions right now. Greens are maybe a touch slow, but they roll true. Fairways are also in good shape with no weeds or patchiness.
In better shape than most courses.
the greens are in great shape and the fairways too. course was wet after rain but in really good shape. bunkers had some water but they were draining well.
Good deal, good course.
This is my local track. I used to play here pretty much every week, until a few years back, they let the place go a bit, and the greens and fairways were in bad conditions so I stopped going. Fortunately, they've reworked the greens and now they're in pretty good shape. It has it's challenges, it's fun to play, it's convenient, priced right, and the course is in pretty good shape. As long as they keep up the good work, I'll definitely be coming back.
Course Conditions Respectable
I live within 10 minutes of this track, so I occasionally tee it up here. This was my first round here this year. I was pleasantly surprised at some of the observed improvements. There are new carts and once again drinking water sources back on the course. The condition of the greens is noticably improved. They finally had some pace to them, where a downhill putt was challenging and better avoided. The bunkers varied in consistency, but most were playable. The tee boxes were a bit sparse in spots, but all playable and I'm a golfer, who still places his ball on the turf for par 3's requiring an iron. I play this track from the tips and it definitely has some intriguing and challenging holes (2, 8, 9 and 13-17 IMO). There is usually a decent breeze blowing when I play here (1-2 clubs on this round), which added to the challenge.
Thank goodness the rate was good
Booked this Hot Deal for only $9 plus taxes and fees. Thank goodness for that since the course was a bit rough around the edges.
Showed up early and took avail of the putting green which was small but nice. No starter so I teed off early since there were no groups teeing off. Weather was warm but not overly hot though I am glad I had lots of Gatorade.
Greens were okay, but had some bad patches, but the Fairways and Rough were like hard pan under what little grass was there. The lack of rain has caused the earth to be very hard. This meant you got a lot of roll on your shots, but on the down side it was darn near impossible to make a consistent short shot.
Greens had mostly nice grass and rolled true, but were very firm and would not take backspin well. Tee boxes were in Poor condition with lots of sand and patchy Grass.
There is only 1 forced carry from the Senior tees -- #17 over water. But there are a few more from the Regular tees. #16 is the problem hole on this course. It is always wet even after no rain for at least a week.
I would only recommend this course for Beginners or on a super hot deal like I got.
Hello Neighbor:
I live within 5 minutes of Deer Run. Funny that you and I played 1 day apart and see the course in an entirely different light. I find the Greens hard and while they roll true, they are hard to get the ball to bite.
Also, #15 and #16 are still as bad as ever with standing water encroaching on the fairways/rough.
Wish we could meet up for a round, but then maybe you would not want to play with 23 handicapper. LOL
