The golf course at Deer Run Country Club, which was redesigned by Ron Garl in 2003, utilizes its natural terrain of sparkling lakes and towering trees to create a picturesque and challenging layout. The golf course is also known for the immaculate conditions of its greens and fairways, which provide excellent putting surfaces. Deer Run Country Club features strategically placed sand traps, numerous doglegs, and water comes into play on several holes. The golf course, while challenging, is appealing to casual golfers and beginners for the beautiful setting and enjoyable, relaxing game. Deer Run Country Club is a local favorite both for the interesting layout and affordable rates.

Great Course
Although it was busy being one of the few nice weathered days we've had in the last month, the pace of play was good. We needed 4 sets of rentals for friends who dont play and the course lent us 4 sets without charge. That is why we chose Deer Run, the free rentals. The greens were in perfect shape. Very few if any dry/dead spots. Tee boxes and fairways also in great shape. Very please, will be back in a couple months.
Great Greens for the Money
Played here on & off for many years. The greens are in the best shape I've ever seen them. There are fairways & tee boxes that could be a lot better, but like I said for the money these greens are very good.
having some fun
very relaxing atmosphere on a golf course. Lot of hazard areas with water
A good days golf
Excellent course a bit of a challenge but played well. Course was in very good condition. Staff all very helpful.
Wet, average course at best
Wanted to give this course a try, but it's a bit out of my way and the value just isn't there..A lot of fairways and greens need work..maintanence guy was working on greens during round and didnt even move off the green on 2 of the par3's, just waved us to play while he stayed standing on the green and watched; annoying. Some fairways soaking wet. Bunkers in poor condition. unless you live in casselberry not sure why you'd travel to go to this course..
Run ball run!
Fast true greens in good shape. The ball runs on the tight lie fairways. A bit difficult to find the course but worth the effort. Will definitely replay.
Deer Run is one of my favorite courses
Deer Run is one of my favorite courses, the course is challenging from the gold tees and the greens are in great shape, actually a little quick!
Relaxing course for all types of play
The overall maintenance of this course has gotten significantly better over the past two years. They really started taking care of the greens and fairways. It has paid off as more and more golfers are out playing during the weekdays.
A different experience with light rain
I enjoy this course a lot and have played here a few times. The front is a different experience than the back and each offers unique shot-making requirements. For the most part, keep it in the fairway and you have a great chance to score. I played last-minute with a fantastic GN deal in light rain with a little wind and it's a little bit different than in dry and warm conditions. Conditions are for the most part OK but some fairways are pretty beaten up but still you usually find yourself hitting from grass.
Playing here for years
I have been playing Deer Run for many years. Its a solid course and is fairly forgiving. High handicappers wont lose too many balls here, but there is still some challenging holes.
the course was in good condition
The fairways and greens were in very good shape. They have new carts. The only complaint was the pace of play was a bit slow, probably because they don't have a ranger.
course getting better
Course was scrappy just a few months ago, and it still needs a lot of work --especially putting some sand & drainage in bunkers; but the greens are in much better shape than just a few months ago.
Great local course, affordable with a good layout and in good conditions
Fun layout, greens in good condition and relatively open and forgiving. The price is enticing to play this course frequently.
nice course with some tight fairways and some challanging holes.
course in great condition and a bargain for what I paid. I would play it regularly if not for the distance from home.
slowest round ever
Took 2 hours and 41 minutes to play first 8 holes. My playing partner and I gave up to keep following slow moving groups of 4 and 5. after completing 8 holes. They said it was a busy day because they had a tournament. Good for them. I couldn't understand how come the pace is so slow and even a group of 5 was allowed to play in such a busy day when there was a ranger driving around. Went to clubhouse to complain unreasonably slow pace and asked if they could give us rain checks for 9 holes. Answer: "Call GolfNow"
greens in best shape in the 30 years I've played here.
No rain this October so I was expecting poor conditions both fairways and greens. Greatly surprised that the fairways had grass and the greens were green, smooth, and rolled true. not terribly fast but nicely conditioned. Really enjoyed the afternoon in a 3 hour and 20 minute round.
Great Greens, .. poor Sand (?) traps
Enjoyable day, ... greens in good shape, ..speedy without being To fast. The need to truck in some SAND, ...they have "dirt traps'. Overall nice layout, quality mid-range course.
Very average, but I do like it.
Now, I have to say first that it is close to my house and if it were not, I probably would not play there. BUT, I have to say I like the place. The staff are nice, the layout interesting and the pace of play generally very good (as long as you are not there while the members are there in bulk and even then they tend to be good about letting you play through). That's the good. The bad? Well, they have always struggled with the maintenance. It has improved greatly over the last couple years, but still tends to be pretty rough. So, it's a fun day of golf, but don't expect too much.
Greens much better!!
Had not played here in a couple of years, because of green conditions, and greens were in quality condition. This is a course close to home and priced right worth playing.
