Need drinking water
They don't have water on the course. Instead you have to wait for the cart girl to supply water (she was very cordial). On a day in the 90s that doesn't always cut it.
deer run has a good mix of holes
this course has come a long way in 2 months.fairways are in very good condition, aerasion really helped.bunkers had sand and were raked--still need added sand for greater playability.
Beautiful layout.
Wonderful layout and the greens are in excellent condition.
Friendly staff and excellent food.
Average Joe's Course
As a duffer myself it was a comfortable place to go, hit some balls and have a good time with friends at a great price.
you definitely need course management to score well
There are several dog legs where you do not see the green. Can you carry the trees to put yourself in shape for a par. Or play safe and hope for a bogey. Hole two is such a hole. Four not so bad. twelve is another one where good plavement is essential
Good layout, greens were in fair shape, fairways need work.
Course was in fair shape. Good layout, greens were bumpy but in fair shape. Fairways were sandy as grass was sparse.
Course was in good shape
Last time I played here the greens were really bad. However this time they had them in very good shape. I just wish that more people would fix their ball marks for it makes it hard for those who follow.
Friendly course that won't beat you up
Fair course with challenging holes on par 3's, 4's and 5's. Wide enough to allow the sprayer to still have fun. Not a beginners course but a course that the average golfer will be challenged on. Great lunch deal.
Every golfer should give this course a try.
It has been several months since we played at Deer Run and I'm really glad we returned. The course was in much improved condition, especially the greens; they were great. It was really busy which accounted for the longer than normal round, but the weather was great and we had a good time. You really need to try the restaurant. It is even better than I remember.
A fair test with room to land safely.
Good value for the money. Water and bush present but does not create fear as they are not imposing threats.
give yourself time
I have played this course for the last two weeks on a Saturday morning. the first week it was very cold, and as such not as busy but the round was still on the slow side 4 3/4 hrs, the second round was 5 1/2 hours. I saw the ranger one time but he did not get the groups moving. the greens were inconsistent with some in real good shape but a couple are not good at all.
pricing was good as the round came with a nice lunch.
Good value for a nice course.
One can always find a good value at Deer Run. The course is well maintained and a good enough challenge. It's not the most intereting course but there are a good mix of hole layouts.
Getting to the clubhouse can be tricky if you're going for the first time. Hint: turn at the 7-11.
Just enough hazards for a challenging round.
Well maintained course with trees to challenge you on the front and water on the back nine. Sand traps are fair, a little hard packed.
Fun Course
This was the 4th time I played this course, and the first time I got to complete 18 holes. We were rained out every other time. It is a good course for the golfer who likes a bit of a challenge, but isn't a pro. I've been golfing for about 4 years now, and it's a perfect course for me. The fairways were in good shape, and the greens were in really good shape. I must say, I'm impressed with the condition of the course and the prices are great. Especially if you use golfnow.com.
This course is player friendly.
A variety of different type holes which requires you to think about how to best play each particular hole. The lunch included feature makes this an exceptional value. Well worth playing a game at this course.
For an older course it's not bad
Greens and fairways are in good condition, the greens are on the slow side. The course is fun to play, I went on a cool day not many golfers out. It's worth 25.00 to 30.00 on the weekend.
Lovely course in great setting
Ideal course for recreational golfers like myself. This said the course is challenging and well set up. Glad we played and will certainly play again. The club team are working hard at providing members and visitors with a memorable golfing experience.
